I'm not totally familiar with all aspects of Corsair's Link_2 software and I have had my share of problems with it already. Are you aware that you need to right-click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator'?

Do you have the USB cable inserted firmly into a USB socket on your motherboard?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I don't see anything like this at Corsair's forums either. I really like my H80i and hope you can work things out and get your H100i working properly.

i would try and close and stop as many background programs as you can including your security software. also check and make sure your temp files are cleared and any old folders or files that the previous install might have left are removed.

do you see any thing in task manager in either services or processes?

Yeah man, I went over those services with a fine tooth comb. Unless it's listed under something else I did not see anything that relates to the InstallScript service. Kinda weird, no!!!

I don't know about that Registry key but there are some programs that I can't re-install like IPDT and Intel XTU. I did find this when I searched for 'Install Script setup lancher has stopped working' but I haven't tried it yet. It will create a Restore Point so you change your system back if it doesn't work right. I have used MS Fixit before and they all worked fine for me.

Great find. I actually had run that Microsoft FixIt already. It did not work for me though. I'm just tempted to delete that registry key and try the install. 
 

I wouldn't delete that whole key but you can probably delete any sub-keys for CorsairLINK. This is what I have in my Registry and it shows the CorsairLINK key.
 

I searched my Registry and found several entries for 'CorsairLINK'. I think it would be safe to delete these entries since you don't have the software installed. Just don't delete the key to its Download location or you'll have to download it again.
 

I don't have that entry in my Registry. Since this software is not an integral part of Windows you could probably delete all Registry keys for CorsairLINK. I did see a newer version listed in a thread at Corsair forums but it wasn't in a sticky yet. It shouldn't be hard to find. It is version 2.4.5 WHQL not the 2.4 beta version. I am using the 2.3 version. I do the SFC thing once in a while and never find any errors. If deleting the CorsairLINK Registry entries doesn't work and SFC /SCANNOW finds no errors then I was going to suggest a 'Repair Install' of Windows. You will lose your Registry tweaks but all of your User Data, Profiles and Programs will be intact when your finished. I have had to use this method several times after RealPlayer damaged Windows and I couldn't remove it entirely.

Wow!! You saved the day. I had downloaded the previous Beta Version V2_4_4948. I had no idea that a new version has been released. I was in their forums not long ago. This must have just been released.I downloaded the new release and it installed no problem. Was so great to see the software install and not get the error screen that was so prominent during installing the previous software.

That new release of LINK software first showed up last night in a thread before it became listed in the 'Sticky' earlier today. It's good to know you have everything working again.
