Is there a way to opt out of these huge WU's that take 1 - 3 days to complete? I do not think my rig is good enough to be getting these type of WU's.

Was only getting about 2K PPD on the 8600gt. No good, so I found a used 285GTX that's folding like a champ so far. Should get an extra 10K PPD. If I get my taxes done, and get alot back, I might have to splurge and get a 680GTX(4Gb FTW) and if I get over 5K back one of those overlord monitory :-)

Northern, have you considered OC'ing the 285? Unlock the Core and Shader, then gently start nudging the shaders up. Leave everything else alone and it should produce a few extra PPD without much heat added. It's how I managed to get 6.8k PPD out of my GTS 250.

Some will have to step up to cover 100k+ PPD I'm not able to do any more at this time. Seems my 16 core rig is no longer getting the 8103 WU, but rather the 8101. The 8101 will not complete in time and will only bring in about 9k PPD because it will miss the final deadline by 1hr.

More bad news, my 20 core is now also getting the 8101 that will take twice as long to complete as the 8103, so another 100K or more loss a day. When it rains it pours.

Does anyone happen to have a quad core 775 socket chip laying around they would be willing to let me borrow until this is over. I could also use an aftermarket cooler for it if possible to. My e6600 is pulling crap points and want to be able to contribute as much as I can,

One 2p down for the count HDD failed 92% into a 8101 WU.
Working to get it back online, but still trying to salvage what I can before moving to the next step.

I was able to get the SR2 back online with another HDD. Was also able to salvage the 8101 WU, but not sure it will complete in time. 3:47 left to go, I'll have to look at my other PC to see what HFM says on time left to complete. Edit: nope not in time for a bonus, but looks like I may get the base points 22k.

It finished ok but no points and the server said there was a problem with the unit. Sending work to server [09:12:04] Project: 8101 (Run 20, Clone 7, Gen 128) [09:12:04] + Attempting to send results [March 14 09:12:04 UTC] [09:34:23] - Server reports problem with unit. Edit: I'm guessing here, but think it was due to the server thinking it was completed on a different rig than it was assigned to. Even tho it was the same rig something in the new setup config didn't look the same to the server.

That's probably the case, Wolf. As someone who has, in the past, juggled units from one system to another, I used to see that message until I got wise and started making sure the units were back on the received system. Used to do it with dual cores and quads, so the units that ran crappy on the duals but fine on the quads had a better chance.
As for me, I'm rolling at top speed. 580's are still dark, but I've been pushing the OC's on the 200 series cards.

Well we are certainly jostling with the FAHolics, come on team lets keep ourselves ahead! I very much wanted to bring another 10k to the contest but after much wresting with my other computer it seems the 6 - 7 year old IDE drive gave it's last go I keep getting a Hard Disk error message, Madrias has been through trouble shooting with me, but I have nothing spare to replace it. Quite peeved it couldn't have waited until after the contest, but oh well. On another note, Which INSANIAC is going to earn themselves a Certificate of Insanity I've got a couple waiting to be issued. Your Co-Captain of crazy Madrias has one, Who else is mad enough and OCD about folding!?  And the 2 Certificates for 2 chosen to be the most crazy folder on the team for this contest are:   Names will be added to the Certificates once the 2 people are chosen. Your Co-Captain of crazy has his Certificate all ready to be printed out to put up on the wall... Not that he needs reminding that he's certifiably crazy, he's quite aware of it, and I'm reminded and witness it daily.

We had a slow start last round. This round, we're pulling higher than our estimates instead of getting junk units which hurt PPD.
