Stepups usually always involve vanilla based part numbers

I'm personally glad that it's the ACX 2.0 version for the 980, since I've got a MicroATX and I'm not planning on SLI.

Sucks that there's no reference cooler, though. They're sweet and a better choice for SLI.

Still pending myself. No queue number yet.

I hope not, I filled out the Step-up for within 15 minutes of the 980 being available here!
 
Ahh well you can't complain too much, EVGA's policy on this is eminently fair and well above and beyond the competition.

Nah i mean when did the gtx 980 step up come out in EU. I know it was today but what time :)

It became available for Step-Up at about 18:30 on Tuesday, UK time.

I asked about the pending status and their answer is that they are not giving out queue numbers anymore, now it stays pending until you are #1.

That is pretty SAD as you have no idea regarding potential ETA.
Image that you are going to holyday and you will get your email annotation that you are going to next phase...
you will most likely miss it.
 
I wonder what is my queue number when I was registered for step up in 1 hour since it become available (1000+?)

The US site now lists the 970 FTW ACX2.0 as being part of the programme. Hope that is added to EU step up as well.

I would like to see 980 FTW ACX2.0 or SC but I guess it will not be there tomorrow
and after that I am not able to cancel step up so I will stick in queue for gtx 980 ACX 2.0
 
it is a pity that you can not step up to top tier (even if that means to wait little bit longer) of the card and just to pay the difference if you are in still within 90 day period.

Still Step Up program is pretty unique among graphic cards manufactures.
 
hope the Queue will get moving or we get some update from EVGA...

EVGA's 970 launch didn't get off to a flying start. They have been criticized online. Some of it undeserved IMO. I think they added the FTW to fight back.
 
I haven't been following the 980 story tbh. I think that has gone to plan without any hiccups? Maybe 980 ACX owners can upgrade to the FTW HS later on? That would be cool.

OCUK has the ftw listed at £320 - not in stock of course. The acx versions start at £265 and go up from there depending if they are 1.0,2.0,SC or SSC!

The demand for these 970s is huge. Lots of people going SLI. some people bragging online that they have sent for 4 cards. 2xMSI & 2xGigabyte for example. They will return the pair they don't want. Not cool IMO.

The FTW HS/cooler is very tempting.

14 days left for my Step-Up to the 980. Really hope I get a place in line by then!
