At 8:20 this morning Hershey Chocolate Kisses has passed away. She went quietly in my arms, and the arms of my veterinarian. She was active yesterday, happy and chasing a ball, this morning she was ill and weak. I took her to the vet at 8. I'm gonna miss the hell out of that dog. She was the best friend I have ever had, the only one I could ever talk to and the closest creature to have ever touched my heart. She will be cremated. I will take her to Portage Lakes park where she enjoyed countless hours swimming, where she enjoyed her favorite song Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi and I will spread her ashes on a bed of rose pedals. I thank you all for your support in her times of need, can't say how long i'll stick around today as I will be drinking (am) but after today i'll probably not be around for a few. Again though thank you all.

Really sorry to hear that.  I've been through that a few times now and when they're part of the family it's tough to lose them.  My condolences.

Man that is rough and really sad. I feel for you. I'm sorry. :( Seemed sudden and out of no where. You just posted another thread not to long ago.

I'm very sorry to hear this I've some of you past posts about her surgery and things.

Sorry to hear this cd. I would start looking for a new puppy this weekend.

Animals become part of your life. They are children to many people.

After our last pet died we decided we couldn't go through that pain again.

Wow dragon, sorry to hear that. That took a sudden turn...Hershey was a great dog/ companion. I have enjoyed the pictures and video you have shared through the years. As you now I recently lost one of my friends, I'm sorry. You always did the best for her, and I think she appreciated it. R.I.P. Hershey.

Hrrrm, sorry to hear. Cherish the extra time you had with her after the operation. Remember all the good times. I respect what you're doing with her ashes as a way of letting her rest in her favorite place.
 
In a related note, I'm am very much a believer in helping others pets who have cancer. Monthly I give to http://www.themagicbulletfund.org/DogsNeedFunds.shtml in memory of my brother's dog. My boxer is also a cancer survivor. Pets and cancer is a heartbreaking thing.

Sorry for your loss. Our pets do bring us much joy and happiness.
So sad to see loved ones go.
I've lost several pets over the years, thought I did not want to go through it again.
The years of joy, happiness and fun far out weigh the sadness of saying good bye.
 
Dogs are a mans best friend. I can prove it too.
Put your wife or girl friend and your dog in the trunk of your car on a hot Summer day and go for a ride over a bumpy road.
Then open the trunk and see what one wags her tail, gives you a kiss and is happy to see you.

Sorry about that. I had a dog when I was a child. It also died and broke my heart. Her name was fluffy. R.I.P
