If you could make one new forums rule, what rule would you make and how would it benefit the community. Mine would be to limit the number of news articles any one member could post in a week. It would benefit the community by preventing any member from being able to flood the news sections. The computer industry news section on evga forums reminds me of forums that have been over ran by a spam bot. I can see why members have given up on that section.

Mine would be that we could have a special "box" for all those who can not properly use grammar out of choice. I am not talking about those that use English as a second language or those who misspell complex words but those who choose to use poor grammar such as "Ima gettin that crazy cool game cuz I aint never not playd it before." Double negatives and stupid grammar are a pet peeve I guess.

+1 for that. I occassionally throw in some 'gonna' or 'ain't' words just for flavor but I don't speak ghetto and hate when people end their words with a 'z' instead of an 's'.

When I learned english (2nd langage, a loooong time ago), one of my teachers told us about american english. This teacher said that words like aint, gonna, nite, cuz, and many others were admited, and we had to learn those words ! We had some blues lyrics as examples. As a result, no problem to understand "Ima gettin that crazy cool game cuz I aint never not playd it before.". I would write : "I'm gettin' that crazy cool game cuz I aint played it before.". Am I wrong ?
why make it simple when it can be complicated ???? rig 1 : Asus P9X79-E WS / i7 4930k / 3-way SLI EVGA 780ti / Quadro K2000 / watercooled / 3D Vision Surround / 3 x Samsung 2233RZ + HP ZR22Wrig 2 : Asus P9X79 WS / i7 4930k / 2-way SLI 770 / aircooled / 3D Vision / Samsung 2233RZ + Samsung 2232BW + HP ZR22Wrig 3, 4 5, etc. : uninteresting !

A rule where mods must be unbaised to all people and be a little more strict. Something the mods here definitely do not do.

I would propose that there should be an image file size limit for images in signatures. It would be nice if mobile users had the choice to enable viewing signatures so that they could help users who list their system specifications in their signature. But I understand that currently some users decide that it is necessary to place a 20MB animated GIF image of a motorcyle racing around a track in their signature area and I appreciate that mobile users are currently not subject to such abuse of data useage. If there was a rule about acceptable file size so that data useage was not wasted so needlessly by those who find it necessary, I see no reason why signatures would need to be permanently disabled for mobile users without an option to enable them.

I can say with 100% certainty that all mods are fair, and unbiased. By strict, I believe you mean (enforcing the rules). We all enforce the rules. Now, if we talk about me in particular, I'm sure many who have dealt with me will say I'm strict on enforcing the rules, but also fair. I treat everyone equally, and I'm proud of that. Even the members that I game with know that they get no special treatment. I treat everyone the same. If someone breaks the rules, then I weigh the issue, and deal with it as fair as I can. Mods are human too, and can make a mistake. This is why a member can always question the punishment. The situation can either be changed, or stay the same. Every situation is different. I don't care if your a mod, admin, or regular member. "Everyone" must follow the rules.

1) System information would be mandatory - too many post for help with no basic information. 2) Animation of Avatar should have refresh limits - some flash so fast & bright they seem to be an epilepsy test.

We can't always see every BR worthy post. This is why we need your help in rewarding those members who deserve it for helping to solve a problem, etc. If you notice a member who might deserve one. Please do one of the following: 1) Do a "Report Post" to recommend a post as BR worthy. 2) Post in the following thread, and request it - http://forums.evga.com/Afterburner-has-put-out-an-APB-m587606.aspx Note: There are some members that are on the forums many hours a day helping people. It's difficult not to see the great work they are doing here. The more you help, the better the chance you'll have at scoring a BR. Help to be our eyes to see these posts.

LOL yeah that. Also what would help too is to make sure that there all not from the same website either. What would also help is to limit how many times some one can post a day or limit how long some one can be logged in for. That would certainly control the spam. It would also help some people to get a life and get off the computer.

I only need two rules: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtsvsLFYYSg but aside from joking, I'd vote for a be respectful to everyone, especially those you don't like, as the others you shouldn't need a rule to be respectful too. I think it's possible not only to disagree, but even outright dislike someone and still be respectful as respect is not the same as agree or even admire in my opinion.

I agree with both of these points. Many forums require you to have your system specs listed before you can post a request for help. Luckily I don't have epilepsy but some avatars can be annoying.

What are the chances of evga making any improvements. The last time i mentioned posting rules/guidelines, i was told evga is worried that could cause members not to post. It feels likes no one at evga wants to put in any effort to improve things unless the current moderators agree with it.

My rule would be to be less strict with the current rules. I see so many posts deleted and threads locked that really should not have been. I can already see this thread being locked for "being off topic". I understand that the forums need to be moderated to uphold EVGAs name but whenever an interesting and somewhat controversial thread popups they are shut down right away and the forums get boring again. A couple years ago when a few banned members were still here they forums were alive and awesome because they always started interesting threads that people actually got involved in.

Oh, one more I think we should have. All members over 5 years and 5,000 posts get a free t shirt! Maybe a stupid idea but maybe it would be need to add a siren or some icon to a thread or a separate section when you need HELP. Instead of someone with a dead computer that has to post on a friends laptop asking for help that gets overlooked and forgotten in the General Hardware. I mean, I love looking at kitty's getting stuck in boxes more than anyone but if I knew someone needed real help with something, I would rather help them if I could and then look at cats and crooks running into windows.

Maybe based on BR count and NOT based on Post count would eliminate the spam issue?

Was a forum mod between 2005-2010. Didn't like many of the management decisions at the time so went back to normal forum user. I don't really consider anything I've done in the last half decade as hard work.

I don't have my hopes up for EVGA doing anything about it to be honest. They seem to only listen to moderators or server admins when making changes, they don't care one bit about community feedback.

Suggestions for forum improvements can always be sent to the webmaster or you can ask a moderator to forward your ideas. I have forwarded quite a few ideas from forum members over the years to management.
