First pic in green is where the back plate would land (It's Further Up than in my pic in my testing but you get the idea here , My Titan with EK Block + back plate won't fit hits the I/O shield the shield comes too low and the bottom part centers around the middle point of the PCIE SLot causing the front of the card not to go inside the slot because it's bumping up against the shield.

Second Pic. I moved the I/O shield up but the screw holes are not aligned anymore however this clears the back plate issue. All EVGA has to do is align it like I have in this pic and redo the I/o Shield screw holes to line up with the motherboards and this issue will go away.

Top Pic.

So Will you fix this evga? or is the board going back?

That Cable you see is for my sound card I'm using 4x Titans so I have to take the 3rd pcie and put it in the 9th Position to run the sound card on this board!

Have you tried to fit it? I remember a thread like this not long ago, no one seemed to have any issues. I'll see if I can find the thread.

No issues here, it is a very tight fit though.

Your evga card might be a tight fit but my ek block and backplate don't work. Also in the second post another users asus card wouldn't fit. This is a simple fix and should be done.

If you read http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2019188 there may be a method to get around it. I doubt EVGA is going to retool anything for the few people who will run into these issues.

    Good afternoon,

I can confirm that there are no issues between a between the IO cover, EVGA video card and EVGA backplate. If you are running into an issue you can remove the IO cover, it would be suggested to keep it and the two screws safe as they will be needed for any type of RMA. To confirm are you using an EVGA Titan backplate or EK?

I second that. I am using the third slot though for better routing of my tubing.

I Am using the EK Titan Backplate, Like Seriously, I have 4 Way titans I need to use the first slot, Regardless for a high end board I don't expect this kind of miss alignment. It would have not taken any more effort to simply put the backplate the way I have in my pics and the screw holes a bit longer to line up and it would fit ALL types of back plates. Were talking about a few MM of clearance here that makes all the difference. If your solution is Just Don't use the I/O cover then why even include it? If I can't use it board's going back and I'll just pickup a Rampage IV Black edition which ahem the I/O shield sits above the PCIE Slot so that these issues won't happen. It's a very simple fix on your part EVGA.

    Update.

Without the bottom screw and the alignment like in my second pic and the top screw only I managed to get my backplate's in and it's super tight.  It's not perfect but it works.

My I/O cover touches my vga (titan) also without backplate.
I had to apply some insulating tape on the i/o cover to prevent SHORTS on the vga pcb!!!

    Coming soon:
Intel core i7 4930k, EVGA X79 Dark, 2X EVGA Gtx Titan Sli + ACX Cooler and backplate
