Yeah this for the club.
I want to join but I seem to be stuck at 197 bclk temps are great around 75c running 50 passes of both IBT and LINX. the problem is when I try and go to 200/201 bclk I temps in the low 80's like 82 and/or I can't pass neither IBT or LINX.
I will post my bios Template with my 197 bclk below.
Also should I update my bios, I have IX58S60V if that means anything.
Thanks for your time!!

    bump ^ vcore  I use 1.3250v with my 920
avoid auto setting figure out what they need to be you could also try the following changes.

MCH Strap ( Dram Ratio )
    CPU Uncore Frequency (Mhz) ( 16x )
    CPU VTT Voltage +200
    CPU PLL VCore ( 1.8)
    IOH PLL VCore ( 1.8)
    QPI PLL VCore ( 1.3 )
    IOH VCore ( Auto )( 1.3 )
    IOH/ICH I/O Voltage ( Auto )( 1.6 )
    ICH VCore ( Auto )( 1.225)
    Maximum Payload Size ( 512 )

Turbo Performance ( On ) this is not to be used with your proc. only the 980 and I think the 990x otherwise it should be off

    Try this:
    QPI PLL @1.2V
    VTT +200mV.
You should be able to get over the 200 bclock hump.

No need to test both IBT and LinX. Pick one. They are basically the same.

IOH voltage will depend on the number of GPU you run. 1.15 is pretty safe.
    Don't touch the IOH/ICH I/O voltage.
Leave the ICH at 1.1V, 1.15V if you run a lot of drives in RAID.

Turbo mode yes, Turbo performance no. It is a feature of the extreme CPUs which lock your RAM multiplier. Disable it.

Okay I booted w/ 201 bclk vcore 1.375 I can lower this later. gonna test.
Another note.. hmm Idle temps are high.. should I back of vcore a bit then test and add when needed..
or is this a good starting point?

What are your ambient temps in your room? When water cooling that plays a big part in your CPU temps. How big is your radiator and what fans are you using? That is really warm for water cooling at such low volts. Never really heard anything about D-Tek either so I'm not sure how good they are. Hate to say it but I had a Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B Air Cooler that performed better.

We've all been noticing how high his temp is for water... How hot did you get on your test? You can try with a lower Vcore but I would be seriously looking at finding what is wrong with your watercooling setup if I were you.

I use 1.28750 on my 920 d0. My 24/7 settings is 200 x 21. Never had a cpu related error on any apps. Just too lazy to sign up for stability club.

May I suggest loosening your ram timings? I know the G.Skill pi blues are some awesome low latency rams. But from my past experience, doing 4.2 ghz OC on a ram that's supposedly rated at 8-8-8-24 1600 mhz will cause BSODs. After experimenting with different voltage settings, I went to change my ram timings to 9-9-9-28, and my system became stable.

Also I think HT needs to enabled to join the stability club, right?

    Yes.
First off temps with the test with 200 bclk were 85 I was like holy moly.
Yeah my water block was a pretty good one back In the lga 775 days.
Anyways, I tried to see what voltages I would need they seem ok but temps are crazy.
Speaking of blocks, I have a quad nozzle on there I don't know if that would make a difference. Also for fans and radiators I have a switch 360 and a 240 radiator on high speed Yates loons running full tilt all the time. Noise isn't that bad for me.
Anyways I have all the Auto stuff set to what you guys suggested but I failed I even raised up vtt to +225 it peppy at start up but fails with temps at 85
Any other suggestions, I actually cleaned the dust about a week ago I did notice a a temps drop at idle with my stable 4.1 overclock like 4~6 degrees as wel as max load, I get 74~76 never hitting 80@ 1.275 w/o droop.
I will take out the quad nozzle when I get off, I wonder what is up with this. Is my hardware not able to do this, maybe a new CPU might cure this or maybe I am doing somehjng wrong.
    Well thanks for the suggestions!!

85C is kind of borderline. But for water it is very high. What failure are you getting?

Sounds like your CPU is not liking the high clock. You know I had a 920 D0 like this too. It would run 4GHz at very low voltage 1.2V but would not want to go to 4.2GHz for less than 1.4V which was more than what my cooling could handle at the time... You might have one of these.

Try reseating your water block..but if you have already...its time for a new water block...that v2 is OLD...I had one on my Amd 5000+ than used on the 920 for like 2 weeks than upgraded...dropped temps 15c also with an upgraded rad...I run 1.43vcore and temps barley get into the 70's c...but im sure that will change in the summer

Please don't take my example as gospel, my friend.

You asked as to whether or not to flash your BIOS.  I will say that you should, but only if you're comfortable with doing so.

Furthermore, I will provide you my current template, but know that not all 920s are the same; you may actually realize better results than has yours truly.  My advice is to keep pluggin' away, and to never give up.

What are your NB & vreg temps at 100% load sounds to me like those are overheating.
If they are the 933KHz  BamBam suggest isn't going to help much and +300 Vtt is typically to high.
The D0 should do 4.0/4.2 turbo easily and on average, YMMV, they take 1.325 vcore to do it.
What is cooling you vreg/s now?
Have you tried a spot fan I heard of some good results.

    Wow, memory @ 1600MHz at CAS 11?

Sorry, Rafale... are my settings improper?

I would not say improper. I am just surprised you had to increase your memory timings this way. at a CAS of 11 your memory is equivalent to 1333 Cas 9 which is I think what the JEDEC spec is for laptop memory...

What are your NB & vreg temps at 100% load sounds to me like those are overheating.

Just to add, in fairness, at these settings, only 8 GB of my installed 12 is being seen by BIOS.

I consider it a fair trade-off.  Some folks contend that it's a limitation of the i7's integrated memory controller, given my current baseclock.

Does anyone know if replacing my 2 kits of 3x2 with 1 kit of 3x4 might somehow overcome this particular limitation?

I have to comment on this.
My RAM timings at auto are almost to specs.
    8-8-8-24-59-1t
    Does that mean anything?
Does it mean that my RAM has a very close possibility of running CAS8 as per mfg. specs?

@v1ral 60c on the vreg is well withing reason they have a max of 120c but start causing issues at 85-90c. Did you try the voltage setting I recommended in my 1st post to you?
edit I just saw you last post keep the timings at the mfg spec do not leave auto.

@ BAMBAM I've seen peeps using 24 GB at 1600 with a 4.2 clock using the Corsair Vengeance (2) 3x4 1600 memory. They seem to be very compatible. The mismatched memory size is like your isssue with the missing memory too. I have run into that scenario a couple of times and it was always an improper setting in bios.

Ohh, I have dealt so much with these problems. Once you rule out the the hardware issues (cooler too tight, RAM not fully seated, bent or broken CPU pin) it came down to some synching issue during the boot process between the IMC and the RAM. It is true that different can behave differently. It can become better, it can become worse. For a given set of RAM I found that there were several factors affecting the problem:
    Vcore
    Vtt
    Vdimm
    Vdimm-VTT
    Timings
    bclock

You need to fiddle around with these to find the right conditions for your hardware setup. Some of them might not make any sense initially. Like raising the bclock or tightening the timings sometimes help. Raising the Vdimm-VTT also helps... Maybe I should write a complete post on this at some point explaining what I observed. At the end I have all of my 12GB recognized all the time now at close to 2000MHz 8-8-8-21-1T

I would suggest loosening your ram timings until you get the CPU stable, than you can try adjusting ram after that.
    tCL Setting ( 9 )
    tRCD Setting ( 9 )
    tRP Setting ( 9 )
    tRAS Setting ( 24 )

    bump vcore to 1.30

Leave everything else as is. I'd try that, and see what happens.
