v1ral okay.. how should i set up my rig with these new rams.. keep it 1610 l,lower vdimm ajd tighten timing First, how much lower is the V? Just subtract the diff in the specs from your present DIMM V setting. For instance, if your old RAM was 1.65V and the new is 1.6, and you had set 1.77V, set it to 1.72V. That way, if your mobo is undervolting your RAM just a little, you will be properly compensating for it. Then with your old RAM installed, set the known latencies of your new RAM in BIOS, tRFC set "auto," and command rate either "auto" or 2t; set the V, and "save." Wait for the first BIOS screen again - at that point it doesn't matter if the RAM settings caused a prob - immediately turn off the computer (at first BIOS screen) and change your RAM. Then go back into BIOS and confirm the BIOS didn't revert to defaults, boot to Windows and read the highest MHz latency ratings in W/Everest (AIDA64 or CPU tweaker) and plug in tRFC and command rate. Test the first night with Memtest boot CD overnight, or 8 hrs. Then if the new RAM doesn't work well that way, try setting the BIOS to the exact DIMM V setting that Everest reported. You can always try this latter way later even if the previous V setting way works, it will tell you more about exactly what's prob going on with your mobo DIMM V. In each cases, also run at least LinX (or IBT) 50 passes (PS 25K, 25 passes for 36K), and you should also run P95 blend 8hrs min, 24hrs preferred. Just like any other final OC procedure. If this doesn't work at your full OC, then you will need to revert back to stock CPU, set the RAM V and latency settings, set to 2:14, and run the tests that way; then start your OC fresh! At least you will have a very good idea what your settings need to be like this time, and you will be able to take larger Bclock jumps. The diff would probably be just VTT. At the point after you certified your RAM as good at no CPU OC, you could try your full OC again, this time with added VTT - assuming the previous paragraphs did not work at your full OC speed. GL.

Meh, this makes me want to go under water sooner than I plan. My CPU is begging for more speed, but I'm pretty capped thermally with my Megahalems.

mistermister Meh, this makes me want to go under water sooner than I plan. My CPU is begging for more speed, but I'm pretty capped thermally with my Megahalems. I say do it.. It does lengthen the time of the chip, instead of going SB or what ever. I think I can stick to a 4.3 overclock now so I can utilize this ram's higher speeds and keep it at 2:8. Anyways. About Vdimm, when my old ram needed more vdimm than mfg. spec, does it roll over to these new RAM? I would hate if I did, cause that would be a motherboard problem, *needing more than 1.65 for my G Skill RAM and if I need more vdimm for these "NEW" Corsair ram. Would you guys RMA the board cause of the compensation of the vdimm voltages not going to 1.65 or should I just live with it and adjust accordingly?

Keep pushing it until you physically can't anymore, imo. If it can go higher? THEN GO HIGHER!

I don't think you will get any better Gflops than 54.x. It is right on par for the max near your OC, W/920.

Can you please post your voltages. I'm curious because my chip seems to be rather funky, it's been at 4.2 for about 3 years and never blue screened except in linx
