I'm  looking for a new laptop these are the two choices help me choose. If i get the MSI i will get it from newegg to avoid paying tax and if i get the dell i will pay tax.
 
 
The MSI - $1100 out the door

    I would go MSI. In my experience, Dell always advertises these amazing specs and then proceeds to use the lowest quality parts with those specs as they can. My buddy has an MSI and loves it.

    +8. Msi any day over a Dell. Even though lappys have gotten a lot better over the years, I still go by my original assessment. A laptop is only as good as it's warranty. I have lost count the amount of times I have serviced one or have owned one where something goes bad months after warranty and can't be fixed without tracking down a major part that is usually expensive.
     
    The crap-top I have now has a a faulty fan that is a known issue. So now, when I power on, I get a fan failure message and I have to "kick start" the fan by blowing once or twice up the exhaust vent. Getting to the fan requires pretty much taking the whole thing apart and ordering an aftermarket tiny, screaming replacement.

    Agreed!  I have an MSI and it is awesome.

    MSI has been on a roll lately with some sweet looking laptops.
    If it were me I would want m.2 for the OS and some games
