I think I got one or two, then back to 8018's... It's sort of like playing the lottery!

i moved my 460's down to the 8 core rig gained almost 20,000ppd each for 8057's but put the 570 and 580 in the 6 core rig and lost almost 70ppd 10,000 on 580 and 60,000 on 570 so it depends on cpu i'm thinking someone else want to try moving their gpu's around see what happens

Dropped my cpu to a single core from smp. On my gtx 590 without running cpu folding uses 20% of cpu. OC 590 to 700/1800 gets me a TPF of 1.45 on 8057 and complete each unit in just under 3 hours. Easier on cpu and PS to quit smp.

Point 1.  8018s suck!.
Point 2.  I think an easier way would be to vary the number of cpu cores you are folding on and observing the effect that has on the GPU ppd.

I'd start with just pure GPU, then add in SMP2, SMP4 etc and record the results.
I know that 8018s trash my smp ppd more than other units.  8057 seems to play nicely.  certainly my 660ti is getting
110k ppd, which is what I have seen reported for that card from other users.

You hit it on the head with the 8018 they run HOT, too long, few points for all the juice they use. I heat the house with them an fold much less in summer due to heat and ac is overclocked in August.

I should be somewhere around 360 - 370K roughly when all my cards get them.

2 x GTX 570 is 250K
I also got GTX 460 which I heard does around 90K,
2500K is 10K
2600K is around 15 - 17K

what did you do to prevent the core_update problem when going from 2.25 back to 2.22? just noticed all my GPU's were stalled on progress after the unit finished and I had to go back to 2.25 to fix it so my 570's are back to 85K again.

Did you pick up some 726x WUs? I think that WU forces 2.25 and is advmethods only atm. I would remove the advmethods flag on your fermis.

I reinstalled v7 a few days ago and when I started it up, the core kept trying to update to 2.25.  A couple weeks ago when I installed v7 this didn't happen. I'm not sure what I did different between the two installs.  After a bunch a tries, it finally let me keep 2.22.

This morning I received 7623 and 7626, both requiring 2.25 I think. It only updated the fahcore folder to 2.25, it left the beta folder alone with 2.22.

In the extra client options. I have not seen any of them since switching to v7 though.

I only have 3 entries in the extra client options slots

gpu                         true
client-type                beta
next-unit-percentage  100

I think I know why, when you installed FAHcontrol did you choose GPU only or GPU and SMP in the menu? the GPU / true was probably auto added if you chose GPU only on install

I chose GPU and SMP....

pulled that list off my 2600K rig, running both

Edit: double checked all 3 rigs, they all have the "gpu true" in that list.
