I was worried but this thing looks awesome.  Very nice.  I even like the E.... it's more of a blood red then a dark pink like the pix I have seen.  Will post pix here of built rig hopefully tomorrow.  Buhahahaha.

I just put mine together.  I completely agree.  The metallic red is much better in person than web posted photos.  Unfortunately, I can't see much of it due to GTX Titan Black (SLI).  So far I am loving the X99 platform.

I will have dreams of plugging tubes and twisting fittings.  What kills me is I couldn't even wait until WB's come out.... cause when they do I will be doing this all over again.  Not so sure mobo blocks actually do anything for ya though....

Question:  Can you use the PCIe cables from a Corsair ax1200 to plug into the 8 pin CPU connectors on the mobo?  That's what I did on my RIVE.  If so, as this board has two, can I use two?

I don't think the connectors are physically the same, so it shouldn't even be possible. I do know that they are not electrically the same and they should never be used interchangeably if for whatever reason you can connect it.

The cables are different on the male end, but on the back of the PSU they seem to be for either or.  They just use different cables depending on where they go.  It's been working for years on the RIVE.... I hope.

Well sadly I must report that the documentation supplied with this board is really sub par.  The manuals contain little to know info except really basic stuff.  More tomorrow.

I ordered my board originally from Amazon but didn't notice that it would take 2 to 5 weeks, so I looked on newegg and its in stock so I cancelled Amazon and ordered through newegg at the 399.00 price and I also get a free EVGA mouse that comes with it. You should check it out Davestune.

+1 .... this is correct. DO NOT interchange the pci-e and eps 8 pins, the pinouts are very different, meaning the actual wires that carry voltage etc ... are in a different config and you can blow out all kinds of things doing that. The plug ends are molded differently and they are not suppose to be able to plug in but many people have pushed them hard enough to actually do it and suffer the consequences. Although, you can buy some converter extensions, or make them if you have the parts and know what your doing.

He already said that the cable is the correct EPS 8-pin out to the board. His question is regarding the PSU since the PSU's PCI-E power and EPS power plugs are identical (same wiring and same connectors).

It may be fine. Far from us to know off the top of our head. Look in your power supply manual. It should tell you. If you don't have the manual any more, you can usually find necessary manuals online.

The sense A and sense B stuff is optional depending on if the PSU supports it. In the absense of that feature, those wires are just regular power and ground like the other pins with no extra current sensor inline with them. Assuming the wiring is correct as you said and assuming that PSU crossloading isn't an issue, using the PCI-E 8 pin connectors out of the PSU to power your 8 pin EPS cable should be fine. But check your PSU manual to be sure.

I am not having luck viewing the manual on my phone.

My guess is that the PSU manufacturer made both types of connectors on the back of the PSU identical (assuming that what you said is true) on purpose so that you would have more options. Assuming that it is ok to use either connector on the PSU, you should still take crossloading into consideration if your PSU has multiple 12v rails.

So far so awesome.  CPU seems OK at 4.6, but I didn't really hammer on it.  Haven't played with XPM, heard it forces the strap to 125 which I will eventually have to do.  Memory defaults to 2166.... like that's slow or something, but still....

Mind saying what batch you have? I am assuming that's a 5960x but I haven't seen you explicitly mention it.
