If you have a 1080 FTW and are worried about the heat while we wait for new vbios/thermal pads. Download EVGA precision (right from this site) and when you fire up your game, just turn the fan control up past 70% and hit the apply. (i could not hear the fans.) -- you can create your own "fan curve" but this is the easiest way for those who can't figure it out.

Yesterday I had it just running out of the box and was getting 81c with Overwatch 1440p high settings. Today, I put the fans on 70% I was around 60-65c during game play... So, when the new vbios comes out it will be fine. I did request my thermal pads, because why not. i have always wanted to open up a gpu.

to turn the fans back to auto, just hit the auto fan icon in precision and hit apply.

This is truly a bad a** gpu, looks amazing and performs great. GL HF

What I did was select the Agressive preset on Precision and just have the app starting up with Windows. No hassles at all.

The point of my post was not to bicker about it. It was to just let some folks know that you can easily turn the fan up, which will help keep it cooler until you get your pads and the new vbios.

I hope you get your card(s) fixed or returned, based on your response sounds like you have had some major problems with yours.
