One of the things I learned about today discussing Folding@Home with the Marketing Lead for the Pande Group, Anton, is that they are kicking off a new recruitment initiative to bring the Active Folders to at least 1 million people

The new site is https://foldingathome.stanford.edu/

I love the idea and the new outreach they are planning looks amazing!

Also, I was SUPER stoked that Anton cited our 'Why do I fold' thread when he was discussing this.

Looks great!    (Now if they could just retain some of the donors I'm sure they'll pick up...............)

New website is great and all, but I believe that they are taking the wrong approach to reach 1 million.  To me the more important issue is donor retention and a fancy new website isn't going to fix those issues.  But then again, its no surprise based on the questions they were asking a while back in their donor survey

During the height of tension last year over St the folding forums, as the Maxwell work unit failure rate was extremely high, I suggested to Bruce that they reach out to the masses and get feed back rather than cover up the sensors on the community. I have 3 pages of practically begging for pandemic and Bruce to take a step toward finding ways to retain folders and donors for a more successful production amongst those that see the purpose and want to fight for a cure.

Anything is a step forward for everyone.
