I have both my 980ti hybrids sold.  I hope EVGA has received advanced specs of the 1080ti so they have the engineering team working on the 1080ti hybrid.  I want to put one in both my pc's.  One on the 7680x1440 surround system and one on the 4k tv.

    Thanks EVGA!

Ok, Also got 2 980ti hybrids here, very good cards.

Probably going to put two of these bad boys in my old pc(Dad's computer now).

Then Looking foward to these new hybrids, if that is, more then likely they will come up with one eventually.

Thats called a hydrocopper. Hydrocoppers actively cool the vrm. Hybrids do not, which is why it maintains the fan.

I'm well aware, that's why they call it a Hybrid--but I mean an AIO full covered card, such as Gigabyte's 1080 Waterforce.

Yea. I originally grabbed an open box strix 1080 from my local Microcenter. Center fan was dead. Returned it and got the money back. Saw the hybrid 1080 ftw. Said "why not" and paid the extra cash in difference. Really happy with it. But of course now the 1080ti is coming out. Yea I blame myself. No I am not complaining. But I keep hearing about the step up program? Will that be applicable in my situation if evga comes out with a 1080ti hybrid relatively soon?

That's not how it works.. EVGA is well aware of the excitement people have with a new card being released but they still have their own obligations that must be met before they're going to release anything further.  Patience is a virtue.

Also subbing as I'm just starting a new build and a 1080ti Hybrid will be the last piece of the puzzle so I really hope it arrives soon as the build will be complete in a couple of weeks. I'm guessing I'll see if on EVGA's Instagram before it is mentioned here though.

I was leaning towards getting this version too but from what I've seen on these cards, they seem like they run pretty cool anyway. So I may just opt for a FTW3 or something else.

In regards to running cool.  I would wait to see what reviewers see when they test.  For all we know, Nvidia had the fans running at 100% when they got the 60 something temp.  I bet running a non jet sounding fan profile the card still gets to 75-80C.  I am not saying that is harmful but I sure like the 45-50 of my 2 hybrids.
If indeed they can run at 65ish with a half decent fan curve that would be awesome.

I've never seen my current ftw hybrid get above 42c with vive games or running newer games at 144hz just through a 27inch display. Maybe I'm lucky though. I'd prefer another hybrid over a three fan card if it considerably cuts down on noise though, so hopefully they announce something soon.

This isnt a full video, but he shows his card running mid 60's at a +100mhz overclock out of the box.

After owning roughly 4 980 ti hybrids, I highly doubt I will ever get another non-hybrid card as long as they are an option and needed. I'm not sure the jump from 980 ti to 1080 ti is justifiable but one never knows. I'm thinking the 1180 ti will be the 4k/60+ fps card we all have been waiting for. Once I can single card Witcher 3 at 4k with hw off and get 80'ish fps then I'm jumping on it.

Well I've just built a whole new system this afternoon that's missing a GPU, I'm determined to wait for the 1080ti Hybrid. I guess I'm the mean time I'll power it up and work on the CPU overclock until the GPU is released.

Anyone know when might the hybrid be available?
    For the record:

    5/11 1080
    5/27 1080 ACX3.0
    9/23 Hybrid.
It was 4.5 months for 1080. That's a long time.

That was new architecture thought. They have been working on a hybrid for the Titan for awhile and it will work on the 1080Ti, so I'd guess it comes out much sooner than 4.5 months.

Has that ever been confirmed though? I did a quick search and I can't find anything but petitions and rumours. I'm guessing they're not working on that, and they are probably happy they aren't because of 1080 Ti completely crushing the reasons to buy a Titan X right now.

If EVGA don't give us information on time scales of the 1080 Ti HYBRID release soon. They are going lose a lot of money to MSI/CORSAIR, SEA HAWK.

People like me now know that the SEA HAWK/CORSAIR and HYBRID, are very close in performance so are not going to wait.

MSI SEA HAWK is already up for per-orders
