About a month ago i got the gtx 970. And registered it on this site soon after. Now that the 1070 is out, how do i use the discount itself?

At the top of the EVGA website click on the support tab for a scroll down and at the bottom of the list you will see step up under terms and conditions. Click on that. To initiate the process you have to click on member at the top and then my products but read the info on the step up page first as it will give you the requirements.

i have actually been considering the idea, of picking up a 970 and stepping up in 2 months. Im figuring by then the stock issues should be resolved for the 1070. I currently dont have a GPU in my pc, the only reason i can even use it is my integrated graphics

Okay, so most important part: is my motherboard compatible with the 1070? It is a "Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel H170 ATX DDR4 Motherboard GA-H170-Gaming 3"

Nice. Secondly: would this 90-day step up guarantee still apply if i buy one without the step up. and then get my second one via using the step up after the separate purchase comes in?

Sweet! and with the low power recommendations: I should be able to run two 1070's with a 600W power supply?

This is a little confusing.. I will say, just to be very clear, you can only step up brand new cards that are purchased from and authorized retailer and registered to your EVGA Profile and have proper invoices uploaded. Second hand cards, gifted cards (not gift cards... I know someone is going to say it...), or Ebay cards from unauthorized stores are NOT eligible for step-up. I don't want you to think you can grab a used card and step it up.

You can purchase the 980 and do the step up now. Why wait...get yourself into the queue. Make sure that you register the card within 30 days and upload the invoice and you should be good to go! Good luck.

14 days for registration, or you have to purchase an extended warranty. "Register your qualifying 3 Year Warranty product purchased new from an authorized reseller within 14 days of your original purchase date."
