I haven't used Ubuntu since PG got rid of the single cpu bigadv bonuses. I still think it's an excellent OS for the multi cpu folks for folding. I made some slight changes to the guide. As always, if someone has anything to add, please let me know.

linux mint is very similar (since it's just a flavor of Ubuntu)
 
I too have not used it since losing bigadv
