So far, with the newer boards, you can expect 3+ rapid beeps at POST before BIOS hands off system operations to the OS. The debug LED will cycle through some codes and then if it posts without any issues it will display the CPU temperature.

The more peripherals you have connected the more beeps you'll hear. The beeping just means it's initializing everything. Low pitched slow beeps are what you don't want to hear.

Motherboard: EVGA Z170 Classified K
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ (2 x 8GB) 3200 MHz CL-14
Video Card: EVGA GTX 980 Ti FTW
Boot Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Data Drive: Western Digital Black 1TB
Power Supply: Corsair HX1000i
OS: Windows 10

Very true.

A while back we tested with a half dozen thumb drives on it and various other input devices, at post, it sounded like Morse Code.  Lots of short beeps is nothing to worry about these days, it is mainly the USB controllers.
