Hey what gives? It there some secret handshake, or code, to get a good no BS, PSU these days.  One more PSU returning to NewEgg. I'm gonna try one more time, then I'm done with Corsair. This Standby power issue is rediculous. Pretty bad I have to keep re-installing my old Toughpower 750w to pick up the new kid on the block, slack!

That sucks!  I've got two HX1000s running right now in two different rigs and they have been working like a champ for over year.  Maybe a bad batch or something.  Have you started a ticket at the Corsair site?  From my experience, their CS is pretty much like EVGAs.  I'm sure they will help you out.

My Enermax Revolution 1050W PSU is a rock.  I've had great luck with PC Power & Cooling power supplies through the years too (OCZ owns them now). I haven't tried the 1000 watter Corsair supplies but generally they have a pretty good reputation.

It always seems typical. Someone comes out with a really nice product, reviews are great.....and then it seems like they cash cow it and lower the quality and sell it based on the quality people "used" to get.

Remember how easy it was to get a DO chip to 4.0? Sure seems harder now. Corsairs used to be great (and they still might be). Same goes for seagate hard drives for me and now some issues with the WD drives that weren't there before. Same thing happened with the thermaltake 750W psu's and one of the reasons I switched folks to Corsairs..... Now I don't know what I would recomend.

Is this all just a fluke? Or is it planned?

Sorry to see you having issues. Call Corsair. Yerbuddy is right. They really are good at customer service.

You don't need a special handshake, but you do need a password:  PC P&C Turbocool 1200

You'll never have another bit of trouble with a PSU.

I will also vouch for Antec PSU.  I've used nothing in the past but Antec PSU, and I have had good results with them.

    This thread is so fail.

The HX1000 is fully compatible with all of Evga's X58 motherboards. Mine worked flawlessly with my E758, and is working fine with my E760.

The HX1000 is one of the best PSU's ever made. Period.

I have two, HX1000W's That have never missed a beat, but I don't doubt that others have had issues, just As I don't doubt that EVGA has a failed board or two every once in a while.  I'm also not saying that Corsair Cst Service is as good as EVGA's, I've never used them for a PSU Issue, but did have to RMA some 1866 GT's once. (Edelphia Chip issue) I did not like the fact that I had to deal with selecting options from an automated system, where as with EVGA you get to speak with a person. But they did replace the memory, and have a good warranty. I also am convinced that a good PC power & Cooling unit is probably better quality, but I would expect it to be at almost twice the price. I've had my PSU's for about a year now, and am sure if I have issues for the next 4 years I will be replacing with a Corsair, because that is how much warranty I have left, I havent decided what I'll go with after that, but Hell , I dont know what will be available and on the market in 4 years. If I build another system it will have a HX1000W, As I like haveing the same equipment in multaple systems, ( makes using the left over cables,  and trouble shooting easier),   I still enjoy going back and reading this review every once in a while: [link=http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/484/1%3C/a%3E%3C/font%3E]http://www.hardwaresecret...4/1%3C/a%3E%3C/font%3E[/link]

All manufacturers have products that fail and it sucks when you have to be the one to get the bad unit.  I'm currently running a hx1000 w/o issue and before I ran an enermax galaxy 850 w/o issue.  Products are made by people who aren't perfect so every now and then something bad gets out the door.

+1 on the PC P&C Turbocool 1200. I've had some troubles with two 1200's, but there cs is above the rest. I RMA'ed two 1200's(non ESA) at two separate times and I received back two 1200 ESA. Word to the wise, just make sure you deal with the PC P&C side, not the OCZ side. Use the phone number on PC P&C website. I don't use anything else but PC P&C.

My Corsair 1000 is just fine.  Had other p/s's that were not, but all p/s manufactures have had issues so nothing not to understand here and that Corsair may have some duds as well.  Over all, Corsair is a very good company.

I remember not too long ago, that someone bad mouthed a Honda on a web site, and stated he would never buy a Honda again and bought a Toyota instead.  We all know what is now going on with Toyota's.

Been running my HX1000 for 14 months now, never a moment of hesitation. LOVE IT!

Do I look like a mushroom?.
No, then why do you keep me in the dark?.

    This thread is so fail.

The HX1000 is one of the best PSU's ever made. Period.

    Ya....When they work ;-)

I was bullied into getting a new PS from a Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000. There was nothing wrong W/my CM, it was just all those damn Corsair 'better than thou' guys out there. Now I have found out my probs were related to weak SB on my mobo, and have found workarounds. TB I had to buy a Corsair 1000HX to find out. Thanx guys, especially MJinZ, you cost me $350 + ship. Increased my CC debit with increased interest payments for years to come.

You have an isolated case involving SATA, I have never seen any other posts/issues from people experiencing this.

USB lockups, SATA failures, and random lockups seem related - Post #8

OK I feel a little better now that I have vented that.

If you wouldn't mind, please add your experience about the HX1000 to the PSU thread linked in my signature. I really like Corsair too but they are not perfect, and it'd be great to have some negative feedback on them for reference.

LMAO. Your BS is the thickest I have seen on this forum.

Is that why when you installed the HX1000 your issues went away? Or why you needed 2 replacement boards, even though EVGA keeps telling you the one you sent back was perfectly FINE? Even if the PSU is not the actual problem in your case, I highly doubt that 3 or 4 boards later, your SATA problems are because of the BOARD and not ANOTHER COMPONENT. You just have to the unluckiest person with ICHs apparently.

    PEBKAC

And who told you to buy an HX1000 anyway? Oh, I remember that post, you thought you needed a "Monster power supply for your monster of a rig". You could have bought a good $50-$100 PSU and that would have solved your problems.

No, MJinZ, I had the same exact prob with the 1000HX, until I increased ICH Vcore. Therefore it was not the PS. And I am not going to take your bait, I refuse to debate this farther. You (helped to) cost me $350, I should have ignored you instead, and it will not happen again. I will ignore anything you say from now on.

    * * * EDIT * * *:
You know, my main point here is that too many ppls use this PS thing as a crutch, and if they can't see anything else wrong and the person don't have a Corsair, TT, Enermax, Seasonic, nor PC Power & Cooling PS; then they blame the PS, when it's really often their troubleshooting ability that has failed.

HX1000 is one of the better power supplies available according to detailed reviews at JohnnyGuru (my favorite site for detailed psu reviews).  As previously stated, all companies have problem units occasionally.

I've never bought any corsair products before, but so far so good on the unit I have.  I was very happy with my previous Antec TruePower Quattro 850 unit, but I wanted a bigger psu when I went dual processor; and reviews of the antec units showed lower levels of performance than I had hoped (I'm not saying it was BAD, it just wasn't what I wanted for the kind of money they were asking).

If you guys are having consistent psu problems, you might consider a good UPS or just a line conditioner; I know when I hook my ac to an oscilloscope it's a train wreck.  Bad AC power quality can cause all sorts of problems even with a decent psu.
