Hi.

Bought a gtx1080 ftw dt on sale a while ago, and it gets hot with the fan on 80plus%.
I was planing to check thermalpaste when thermalpads arrive, but not so sure im getting them this year. So why not ask the expertss here.
Isnt over 80c bad when the fan runs at over 80%, bught this card because i tought it would run cooler and low fan noise. But no, the fans are getting somewhat loud when the card runs so damn hot.
I see people getting 60s and lower 70s on this an similar cards. After little research my impression is my card is one of the worse when it comes to thermal. Am i right?
Anyways, should i think about returning this card for a new one?
Is there something i can do?
Btw, the case isnt hot. Ok\good airflow. Tried opening door, but that dosent do much ether. Thats why im thinking the thermalpaste is bad, but could be a bad chip?

Tnx for any input.

One more thing, its cool on idle, low 30's. So its when the card gets pushed hard the temp and fanrpm rockets up.

If redoing the thermal paste + adding pads doesn't help I would return it.
