That card has an idle stop function for the fan so the fans will remain off when the card is 60-65C or less. You can set a custom fan curve with Precision X OC to have the fans running all the time to lower the idle temperature, instructions linked: http://www.evga.com/support/faq/?f=59657That said the card running at 60C while idle is not going to affect the card in any way, there is only an issue with the card if it is getting 88C or higher when under a load.

You may need better airflow in your case so that your case fans can help cool your gpu. If you have bad airflow, your card is going to get to hot for 0db mode, and your fans will turn on to get your gpu cooler.

If you want to disable the 0db fan feature, download PrecisionX OC and create a more aggressive fan curve. Mine idles at 33C around 40%-50% fan speed.

Hi Had high idle temps like you. If you have multiple displays, check your gpu clock in precision when idle. It should be at more or less 240 mHz. If it's not, it's because GPU doesn't underclock when idle as it should. It's a known bug from Nvidia gpus/drivers with multiple displays. I have two screens on display port and my TV on HDMI. If I unplug my TV, my GPU clock is OK at 240mhz. If it is plugged -> more or less 900 mhZ -> temps go up until fans start spinning at 60°C. Try to use NVIDIA Inspector Multi display Power Saver if you are in this case, boom problem solved. With this my temps are at 39°C when idle with FANS OFF. Hope it'll help

33c with 50% fans? Make sure your gpu isn't running at full tilt while just idling... Here are the top causes of why a GPU would run at full clocks at idle... #1 You're running multiple monitors. Fix: Enable mutil display power saver using nvidia inspector.#2 Your machine has a virus. Fix: Scan computer using malwarebytes.#3 One or more programs running in the background are using your GPU. Fix: Perform a clean boot of windows.#4 Power management mode inside the nvidia control panel is set to prefer maximum performance. Fix: Set power management mode to adaptive then reboot your computer.#5 Running a resolution of 2560x1440 @ 144Hz. Fix: Change refresh rate to 120Hz.#6 K-Boost is enabled inside Precision X. Fix: Disable K-Boost.#7 Shadowplay is enabled inside geforce experience. Fix: Disable shadowplay inside geforce experience OR completely uninstall geforce experience from your machine (highly recommended)

Hey brother, I don't mean to hijack OP's thread but this has really been eating me inside. Look, I have a 1070 SC, and I'm hearing and reading a lot of conflicting things regarding this whole VRM issue. Right now, I have my card on an aggressive fan curve. It sits at 30 idle, and 60 under load when I play games like titanfall2. No OC. Am I good? Do I need those "optional pads" or can I rest easy that hopefully my card won't burn down my bedroom? I know the GPU core temps are totally different then VRM temps, but with a great load temp of 60c hopefully my VRM's can stay "within spec"? Bro, I am really disappointed in your company because of this whole ordeal.

will this get fixed to allow 144hz? or is this the fix, just bump down to 120?
