Storm trooper definitely has a hard drive indicator light.  You can see it in the picks on the link you posted.
It is quite tall though.

Sorry! I didn't see it before. Anyway, yes it's too tall. I will stick with the  COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1

if this rig is JUST for gaming(no heavy use of video editing or 3D rendering programs) then an i5 2500k is really all you need, i7 is nice but really just overkill

you can save the extra 100+ dollars and get a really good video card,

as for the card, i have a GTX 560, and tho i can currently run pretty much any game on highest settings, there is still some performance to be desired, i would go with maybe a 570 or even a 580(future proof and runs anything)

if you haven't thought about getting an ssd, i highly recommend that you consider getting one for at least a boot drive

i got a Crucial M4 64GB and its probably the best thing i have bought for my rig, boot times are really fast (9-11 sec's from windows 7 boot) and the few apps and games i have saved on it run extremely fast

of course you will want a additional hard disk drive or even a hybrid for more storage space

if you do decide to get an ssd, make sure your motherboard supports TRIM

Case: Azza Solano 1000r
Motherboard: GA-Z68XP-UD3P
CPU: Intel i5 2500K OC'd @ 4.50GHz
Storage: Crucial M4 64GB SSD & WD 7200RPM 500GB HDD
Cooling: Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB(2x4GB) 1600Mhz
          G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB(2x4GB) 1866Mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX 560
PSU: Cooler Master GX 650w PSU

I already bought the 2600k on sale at Microcenter. I'm thinking of just getting a 580 3gb for now. This 560ti just got a beatdown playing BF3 Beta when it was running. I will probably get another 580 down the road for sli later on. I really don't need an SSD drive. I'll get a P67 FTW motherboard. As for the Ram, I bought the Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1600mhz on sale at Frys.

^^^I wish that's how the cards mount in the rig, instead of upside down, which means it's nearly impossible to see those beautiful blocks.

Really nice, and so close to having all the parts! Man if I was you, I would keep on waiting for a 580 Classy. I'm so sad I bought the cards I did... Worst choice I made lol.

Velociraptors at least.

Once you get an SSD you'll want to ditch HDDs altogether, although obviously that won't happen for a lot of people due to prices.  For me I'm gonna stick with OCZ Vertex 3 60GB RAID 0 with a SATA III Velociraptor for additional storage.

Just ordered the Evga P67 FTW (Motherboard), and the Corsair 1200AX (PSU). Hopefully I will get them by this Friday, so I can build it this weekend. Worse case scenario, they arrive Monday. Hopefully that won't happen. Been waiting too long now, and I just want to get this done.

I ordered the Motherboard from Newegg, and it's already being processed. I ordered the PSU from TigerDirect, and there is something holding up the order, but I don't know what it is. It says to call them, but when I do, the recording says to call back later, as they are experiencing a high volume of calls. I can't imagine what the hold up is. This is what happens when ordering from TD I guess. Not as smooth as Newegg.

EDIT:> Tiger Direct didn't approve my Frys price match, which was $5 less. Now I have to wait at least 24 hours to reorder the PSU.
