I am considering one of those graphic cards:
1. EVGA EVGA GTX980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 256bit, DVI-I, DP x 3, HDMI, SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 04G-P4-2983-KR
Price: $569.99

2. EVGA EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 256bit, DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DP SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 04G-P4-2972-KR
Price: $329.99

My PC specifications:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H
Processor: i7-3770 3.40 GHZ, 8 cores.
PSU: Corsair CX500 (500 Watt)

Wouldn't GTX 980 make a bottleneck? Is it okay to have a Gigabyte motherboard and EVGA graphics card?

Is the extra money worth it for GTX 980? I do not have an ultra HD monitor. Though I am thinking to get a new monitor in about 2-3 years. I would really like to play games like AC: Unity on highest graphics. If anyone knows a better choice, please tell. (GTX 980 should already be over my budget but I can expand it a little.)
Also, does anyone know when is Nvidia going to make the next promo offer? (The one where you get free games with a purchase of a video card)

    Will a 3770k bottleneck a 980, probably not.

Though I would recommend the 970 if you are on budget. The 970 is a little beast of a card.

You can use a evga gpu on a gigabyte board. Everything is kinda standardized so mix and match on companies is oksy. Alot of members use asus motheboard and evga gpus.

As for promos, i doubt for awhile. Nvidia has a hard enough time to keep these things in stock. They are makinga killing especially in asia and eu i heard. In Seoul tech stores their is ads saying asus 970 blah blah ONLY USES 145 WATTS!!!!! The power effeciency in a time where AMD uses 290w 290x and nvidoa 780ti used 250w, was much received. You could run 2 970s and whoop a 290x useong the same electric cost.

It shouldn't bottleneck one 970 or 980. If you were to ever go sli, that would be where the bottleneck would come in, especially if you go 120hz+. I ran into this with my old i7 920 @ 4ghz with 670 sli trying to play bf3/4 at 120 fps. Otherwise either card won't be a problem.
