Hello,
I'm overclocking an E5-1660 on x79 classified K3 at 4.5GHz. 4 days before, it runs flawlessly @Vcore=1.25v, passed aida64 stress test. But each day I have to add 0.01v to make it stable for stress test. Today it's 1.29v, yes, at 1.28 it would bsod(Clock watchdog timeout) when stressed, at 1.26 I can't even boot into system! What's wrong?
My bios settings:
pll override : on
vdroop : off
ocp : off
others are left unchanged
I tested the stability @4.7Ghz, 1.4v, 68C; @4.8Ghz, 1.45v, 78C, hardware failure after 1min of stress test. I suspect these high temperature test have harmed my cpu so that it needs more voltage to keep stable.
Help plz
