hello i have a graphics card EVGA GTX 480 015-P3-1480-AR buy in Indonesia
My problem gtx 480 idle temp 68-71C is too hot in the auto fan, default clock
now after a year of use, I've replaced the TIM on the gtx 480 using
Noctua but the result remained the same most down 2-3c
at the first purchase only 50-55C temperature at idle
I use corsair obsidian 800D case
any solution for my problem..

U could take the card out and blow some air in it to clean off any dust.  Do you have good wiring? look around your case to see if anything wiring or "thing" that could block the air flow.

How good is your airflow in that case?, any cables in the way?

If you are in a dusty environment, you should definitely make sure  there no dust accumulating in your card.

How long ago did you replace your TIM?,  is it possible that it may be on incorrectly and need to be re-applied?

Followed by the suggestions above I'd think about adjusting the fan profile so that the fans cool a little more instead of using the "auto" setting.

airflow in my case very well on the corsair 800D
    Cable management is also good
there is no dust on my GTX480 cleaned every 2 months
by opening the top cover gtx 480
I replaced the TIM a month ago and until now the results are still same

Max allowed is 105c, however, the idle temps are not very comforting.

Looks like your default fan speed is set at 44%. Set it to 75-80% and see if that makes a difference. And how many fans do you have in the case? I have a Corsair 800D and SLI GTX 480's and  right now I'm idling @ 41 and 49 degrees Celsius with 2 monitors @ 78% fan speed. How close are the 2 cards spaced apart?

the 800d isnt necessarily the best case for air-cooling gpus. you'll want to add a fan or two in front of the card, pushing air backwards towards the exhaust.

I set auto fan and that was enough so that not too noisy
    I used 3x120mm fan on top, below 1 x 140mm,in addition to 1x140mm
1x140mm 1x120mm for for cooling the hard drive

I plan to RMA to EVGA distributor in my country
but the distributor said it must be taken to vga EVGA taiwan
but that I worry about whether the stock gtx 480 still exist
EVGA distributor in my country say that the gtx 480 has no stock / EOL

How cool is the room temperature? If the room temp is over say 23 degrees Celsius then you going to have a hard time keeping the card in the 40's and 50's. I keep my room temperature 72-74 degrees Fahrenheit and my card idles in the 40's

That's why I'm going to a custom loop.

the 800d is far from the best air-flow case..........Sorry. It's a fantastic monolith that works great for liquid cooling but the airflow is not among the top.
