did you follow the o/c guide? cause i bet you missed a setting in there! c1e or eist i would dbl check them.

if you leave everything default/auto and just up the multiplier you should hit 4.5-4.6. if you follow the guides you can get 5.0+.
some voltage/multiplier #'s here: http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1085651

Great night of testing.....

CPU O/C'ing Test Results
4.6 @ 1.300 = Crash
4.6 @ 1.345 = Pass (temp 68)
4.7 @ 1.345 = Crash
4.7 @ 1.375 = Pass (temp 72)
4.8 @ 1.375 = Crash
4.8 @ 1.400 = Pass (temp 74)

Since my temp was just under the suggested threshold of 75 I decided to stop there. Seeing that 4.8 was stable with a VCore of 1.400 I decided to run a 3DMark with stock GPU clock speeds and a slightly o/c'd GPU clock. Here are the results:

4.8 @ 1.400 (stock clock of 1700) = P7495
4.8 @ 1.400 (o/c'd to 1725) = P7589

Conclusion from tonight's testing:
After pushing more and more o/c on the CPU is seems that only minimal increases happened past 4.5ghz. At 4.5 I was able to score a 7483 and at 4.8 I was able to score a 7495 without touching the GPUs. This means I only gained a total of 12pts by increasing the CPU .3ghz while also incresing my temps by about 10 degrees. At this point I was curious to see what results I would get with a small o/c on the GPU and I was pleasantly surprised at the results. By only adding 25 to the factory clock settings (1700) I was able to increase my score to 7589 which means a 94pt increase. Pretty impressive for a small o/c! Based on the data I have thus far collected, my conclusion would be that adding the extra o/c and temp increase isn't worth it past 4.5ghz on my particular system. It is to my belief that it is quite possible that the increased temps could be slowing down the CPU, but this is just a guess. This leads me to my next set of tests, GPU o/c'ing.
Seeing that my GPU o/c's show better gains I'm going to start back at 4.5 and try to achieve similar results by increasing the GPU o/c. I will use the same process as before but this time focusing solely on GPU tweaking.

Everything else aside, I'm freaking stoked that I was able to surpass my goal and get into the top 7% of comparable systems. Considering I am not using a complete water cooling system and only a Kuhler 920 for my CPU I think the tests went relatively well. I'm sure if I had a better watercooling kit I'd be able to push more from the CPU but at this point in time, I'm more than happy with my setup.

Stay tuned....GPU testing coming soon!!!!!

3dmark11 scores heavy on the gpu score. if you look at this thread you will see that. http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=673237.
also the reason 4.5ghz is your happy mark is your gpus are your bottleneck at that point in the bench mark. start o/cing them and you will see at 4.8 it will make a bigger difference.

Thats pretty much what I concluded. I'm going to start pushing the GPUs little by little and hopefully see some even better scores but it looks like after I'm all done fiddling with this o/c stuff I'll back it down to 4.5 with a small o/c on the GPUs for everyday use.
I was really happy with my scores until you sent me that link.....lol. I'm not even at half their score!!!!!! Seriously though, those guys' graphics cards combined are more expensive than my whole system! Looking at my scores based on my system, I'm happy with where I'm at. I'll probably push the GPUs a little more to see what else I can get.
Just curious, how to I see in mods rigs where my ranking is against comparable systems? Seems like when I do a search I just get a huge list of systems that isn't sorted by rank.

Hey wrinvert, I see you have been pushing your o/c's lately. Was 5.5ghz stable? What voltage were you running and how were the temps? I'm going to try to beat that score.....lol, yeah right!

um 5.5 was benching stable. i was able to do a few runs back to back. temps and voltage 1550mV and temps 75'C spikes. i lapped my cpu this week and im seeing a huge difference in highend temps so this weekend im going to see if i can bench 6.0 on h20. its a lofty goal but lets see what happens.

as far as your score, your dual 460ssc's cost a little less then 1 580 so if you beat any of those single 580 guys you have won!

Actually, the dual GTX460 setup will have cost me a lot less than a 580. My total cost will be about $160 for both, hence the reason I went with the 460s instead. I have a method to my madness :)

6.0 would be just ridiculous!!!! With your full water cooling setup you have more room to grow than I do so until I go that route, you're going to leave me in the dust...haha.

Thanks again for all your input, it has helped me a lot and I'm sure those who have been reading this thread.

Ran another test this morning. Leaving the CPU at 4.8 and increasing GPU clock speeds. Getting large jumps on small overclocks. Setting a new goal for a P8000 score (optimistic I know). Here are the latest test results:

CPU: 4.8
VCore: 1.400
Shader Clock: 1750 (stock 1700)
Memory Clock: 1950 (stock)

3DMark Score: P7662

i can tell you each card is different (ive had a few that crash with even the slightest o/c). my 560ti and 580HC2 can both go alround 120core/300mem over stock. that should help give you o/c max range idea.

Busy work week. Did some more modding a few days ago and forgot to post results. One thing I'm not too happy with is the fan noise from the Kuhler 920. Looking to replace the fans for something a little quieter. Anyways onto the score....
