Hello everyone, I am leasing an 1070 FTW through the company cutting edge gamer. The problem with this is that i can't register the card until i get done making payments on it. I really want to get the thermal pads put on the vrm's and i have already tried customer support from both evga and cutting edge gamer and no one seems to want to help me get the thermal pads. I keep getting the same answer about the bios update but i'm not gonna feel safe with this card in my pc until the vrm's are properly cooled with thermal pads like they should be. If i can just buy the thermal pad kit from Evga than i will do that. So please if anyone can point me in the right direction with getting these pads i would appreciate it.

Unfortunately because you technically don't own the card yet EVGA won't be able to help you. Also Cutting Edge won't help you either I gather in case you stop making payments on the card and it's returned. They can't have the card registered to another user if it's to be leased out again. I've never heard of leasing GPU's before (nothing outside of commercial leasing) so not sure exactly how it works.

The only thing you can do is either buy and apply the pads yourself or simply wait for the bios with the increased fan curve and flash it yourself.

This should be an easy fix.  The company, as the registered owner, contacts EVGA for the thermal pads and either sends the pads to you for install, or you RMA it so they can install them.  Keep a record of your correspondence on the matter.

I hope to see input on this from an EVGA Tech/Customer Service Rep.
