To solve your PSU problem, I believe you could place the PSU in the top slot on your HAF 932.  You'll lose the 200mm top fan, but you'll ease up the ability to use more of that lower case area.  I also have a HAF 932, though no mods have been done to mine.

the top of the case is being taken up by the 360mm rad and fans, and i found a good laser cutter who will make me a custom back for the case, to move the MoBo up an inch. then the PSU will slide to the right of the case to allow for the radiator and fans.
any tips on components or the HDD mounts?

Didn't know you'd found a solution.  As for the HDD mounts, why not recycle that which you're pulling out?  As far as I know, if you don't destroy the HDD racks, you should be able to reuse them.

that.... is so simple, and i had completely forgot about the HDD rack sitting on my floor. so i could just turn it sideways and have the HDD's drop in from the top on the little trays that they came in before. ill do a mockup when i get home. any tips on the components?

I'm resourceful.  Why throw out good HDD racks if you need a new mounting solution?  It's kinda the advantage of never having enough money for a good budget.  As for components, what do you mean?

Ok so after getting the time to cut the holes in the side panel (and taking a break in sleeving and replacing connectors since my fingertips are rubbed and cut raw) ive got the side panel assembled for the first time to see how it looks. here is a picture.

keep in mind the panel is going to be hinged from the bottom, so the tubes can stay in place for maintenance without being pinched or stretched.
next up we have the first assembly and mockup of the bottom panel.

so two things to note. 1st is that the front of the computer is raised an extra inch or so both to tilt the front of the computer up and to give the second note airflow.
2nd is that hole in the case glowing green. both pumps are going to be turned sideways and attached to a heat-sink above that fan, giving both pumps very quiet airflow and tucking them out of the way out of sight.

please reply with questions or comments.

Re:HAF932 TSWdragon 2011/10/05 00:13:11 (permalink)
ok so tonights post involves heatsinks and cable/tube management.

first up we have the heat sinks for the pumps. $25-$45 is too much for a single heat sink for a darned pump so im going to make my own (if this doesn't work ill just save up the bit to buy the stock heat sinks)
this is every spare heat sink i own. and my dinner. yes i have dinner at midnight, its just how i roll.

i then took out every heatsink that was radial, too big, or too small.

as you can see, the medium sized heat sinks don't quite fit, that's fine i have a dremel.
im thinking about those two that are propped up next to the pump top, if i cut down the fins some and cut them to size, i could get longer bolts and bolt them to the pumps no problem, a tight fit but that's sort of the idea. what do you think?

next up, this is the first time I've put everything on the bottom panel as it would be in the finished build. notice i drew where i need to cut to give the nozzles clearance. the PSU is scooted back and away from the camera as far as it goes to fit the side radiator and incoming fittings from the side panel. the HDD cage is modified and turned vertical it will be held down with a handmade bracket. plenty of cleanup work still to be done on those two pieces.

next we have tentative lighting and cable arrangements. with help from my roommate Dakota i placed the MoBo tray where it will be and ran the wires. of course the PSU and pumps will be mostly hidden from view with a black plexi sheet and then the MoBo power cord will run behind the tray up to the actual plug.

the 8pin will be bundled better so its not so scattered but it will not be running behind the MoBo tray, it will be running up the back panel and across, thus its ridiculous length (and i have a longer one if that doesn't reach.)

i am pretty sure that i am going to make the back wheels extended too, to level it out. having it slanted back is a nice idea but with these wheels doesnt work and will put unneeded stress on the MoBo and video cards.

let me know what you think, the lighting is just for fun, likely will put it elsewhere.
edit: all the parts are going to get powder coated by advanced sand and powder here in reno, NV

Re:HAF932 TSWdragon 2011/10/05 00:45:46 (permalink)
Thats an insane amount of heatsinks.

You know the price of copper has tripled in the past 3years. Im sure you can just sell it and buy a new heat sink =]

Looks good im surprised you actually went all out and sanded the HAF. I remember when I sanded mine I had to get one of those hand sander tools and that itself was a lot of work.

Keep it up! and your dinner just made me hungry again D:

the funny thing? i sanded most of it, and now I've got someone who will sandblast the whole thing for me lol. and I've got probably 5 pounds of copper but i dont know what id do with it. besides cut it up and make my own heat sinks. (I'm weird, i know.) who would buy just copper?
and these are heatsinks from every bad MoBo, every new CPU i bought that came with one, and all the heatsinks one of my ex roomies had when he left.

Re:HAF932 TSWdragon 2011/10/11 15:31:53 (permalink)
ok so i got some more parts. first up is the bulkhead fittings, to make a watertight seal through the wall:

had to make huge holes for them but it will be worth it. next up is the pump/heatsink combo:

thats both pumps held together into one unit, a fan under the unit will cool it down by drawing cool air over the heat sinks.
and now everything that goes into the bottom of the case:

and here is the waterflow, at the front of the case are both drain ports.

at this point im out of money and cant progress until i get some of these: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13477/koo-302/Koolance_Nozzle_Coupling_Adapter_-_Male-Male_-_Black_ADT-XMM-BK.html?tl=g30c101s744
and getting the case finished and powder coated. since i just ran into a wall of medical bills for dental work and such i hadnt been expecting, you probably wont see much more updating until early 2012 when i can start picking up the components.
thanks for looking.

danger den, i have a spare one im not going to use, PM me if you are interested.
and thank you everyone for your help. i just moved and am having dental work done which at my work means im not paid for the time off i have to take and i have to stay out till im done with all of it, in short my roommates are the only reason im still eating anything but cup noodle heh.
once im back at work and have my credit cards back to a reasonable level, ill resume the costly work, which is mostly buying fittings and getting the case parts powder coated. (found a local shop which will do the whole case for $150)

here is a picture of my idea for the HDD placement. I'm only planning on having 2 but a 3rd slot is open if needed. on the right is a new idea for a back panel design for ventilation, its similar to the design seen on the collar of an example character for the dragons.

the SSD would be on a plexi bracket attached to the back of the MoBo tray, the kingston is just the model i found the quickest.
there will be a bitfenix 230mm green fan in front of the hard drives, what do you think?

Where you have that ssd now you could use something like this to let you mount 2 there without taking up much more space.
love your mod so far, i might steal your hdd mounting idea since i am looking for ideas with what to do with my 932.

heh i would gladly do mod work, mostly im good for ideas, right now im broke though so id be charging for any fabrication or consultation if its hardcore, like this one is. im actually planning an illuminati and templar builds after this one, both to be simpler but more case design mods.

Re:HAF932 TSWdragon 2011/10/18 23:10:45 (permalink)
so tonight i made the wiring harness to feed power to all 10 fans, and tested it along with the light on/off switch which turns all the green lit fans off or on (just LEDs, the fans keep spinning) at the flip of a switch.

the shark fan (far right) is on a 7 volt connector so it is quiet, i can always bypass it to give it the full 12 volts but in push-pull it should be fine. the mess of wires at bottom left will be much cleaner when i have a case to harness them all to the 10th fan is the small one in the pump recess, im test fitting stuff right now so i couldnt take it off and test it along with the others but im sure itll be fine. all this, the pumps and the liquid flow sensor will run off of one of the 6 12v rails in the PSU, since it came with a guide on which plugs are on which raial, so that that rail wont have anything else taxing it.

let me know what you think! next up ill be sleeving and cutting to length the GPU power cords.

so i ordered some more parts, fittings etc, but first, here is the fans i ordered. 2 gentle typhoons (a test to see how they perform) and a single 140mm shark fan.
one thing that struck me right off the bat was the size of the motors in the typhoons. compared to the shark which is no small fan, the motor is a good 1/2 inch diameter larger.
....

anyone have experience with these fans?
also in regards to the other parts i got, i have all the fittings to start modding the side panel for the mounting of the reservoirs and the proper tube runs.

Just seen this. I actually had around 4.... They all had the same problem. They were leaking oil! And of course after that they started vibrating. I don't know if it was a batch problem or just bad luck on the 4th one i asked for another brand. So pay a bit of attention to it.

Other than that i aspect to see it when it's done. I'm guessing it will look outstanding!

thank you! yeah i have not torture tested it yet, just ran it in the wiring rigs etc, for this build im using 1 of them, to pull in air through the front of the case. they are quiet but i do worry that the motors are huge and they are very heavy fans, limits their use for mods since you dont want to add 10 lbs in fans alone.

just noticed you were talking about the shark, ill keep an eye on it, thank you.

so ive ordered the motherboard tray, I/O panel and waiting to hear back from a forum member about the back panel and window. (yes im getting a new window with my planned guild name and motto) in the meantime, here are some pictures of progress. ive got the Sata cable for the DVD drive done, as well as the four 8pin PCI-e connectors for the 2 cards (yes, unless i get sponsored i will not be able to afford four $700+ cards so im settling for 2.) the 24 pin (just the last few inches is sleeved as the rest will be hidden) one of the two 12v 8 pins, and ive painted the front (mostly) in just a bit ill post a sketch of what i want to do to the front.

Looking great so far Pyre, love the side panel. Have you come up with a wiring solution yet for the fans? Maybe a power distribution block for them out of sight or depending on their proximity you could mock something up.
