I think this will be beneficial both to those who already have this processor, and those who will shortly be purchasing it.
As usual, overclock at your own risk.
Thanks all!

I run windows 2008 server in VM. so I use VT often. and far as the vcore, it helps loads. none of the CPU's I've own ever seen over 12c. on load. I'll be trying for 6ghz. soon. the trick is to balance out the load with memory, CPU, and Chipsets. everybody get a liitle work. LOL.

    Hey Firex,

Wouldn't this be 1.425v (with the new BIOS) and thus be a bad thing?

Forget that stupid WEI score musicalman.
It has clearly been shown to be inaccurate and who on Earth knows what its basis is.
    For instance, my 920 D0 even at 4.4GHz gets a 7.7
So by that rationale, adding 4 more cores and an even higher clock will only result in +.1 ???
No way in Hades does that make any sense.
So don't base anything off that infernal scoring system.

When you get completely stable for more than 2 mins. on Prime95 musicalman, from your CPU section thread, could you fill out a template?
You're on H20 and we haven't had a water template yet.
    Thanks!

    Hey Firex,

Wouldn't this be 1.425v (with the new BIOS) and thus be a bad thing?

Where do you see that in my template??? I'm 1.35v on my CPU VTT.

try relaxing your memory andd work up from there. 2:6, or 2:8 should get you started in th right direction. Start from scratch again. You should be in the 1.39v area. But with these CPU's consistancy of voltage varies from Chip to chip. You guys' on AIR don't go nuts on the voltage. Could be a very expensive mistake if you take out your IMC on that CPU. Try to achieve more performance, with less voltage is the key with these. You guys with 60c idles. Please get a different cooling solution, heat is not you freind on these. Good Luck!

Not on your template, on Robot's.

There has been a considerable amount of debate on what the base CPU VTT voltage is for +0 on a non-classified board.  The original BIOS was set to 1.1v but the newer BIOS were allegedly changed to 1.2v, to be the same as the Classified.

Assuming (you know where that leads) that you need the new BIOS to run a Gulftown, that would make +225 CPU VTT 1.425v. I have read in a few places that CPU VTT over 1.4v were dangerous with a Gulftown.  The newest BIOS either went back to a base of 1.1v or my math skills are totally gone.

Thanks for the advice firex I will try to start all over. I have been having issues with my memory lately anyways I keep setting it to 2:12 and it keeps dropping to 2:10 and I cant figure out why. I overclocked the the hell out of my 920 D0 and never had any issues with my memory or anything.

    TO Chememan
I have never seen this debate but I have flashed the latest BIOS and the default CPU VTT is at 1.1. Here is a screen shot to prove to you :)

    Robot,

I am not doubting what you are reading, I am just trying to figure out what is happening with the base VTT figure.  It was initially 1.1v, then it got raised to 1.2v, only to be returned to 1.1v with the beta BIOS.

I really don't understand why they chose to have a base figure with a +/- adjustment rather than simply having you set the actual voltage, the way you do with the vast majority of the other voltages.  You add that minor confusion to the fact that they have changed what the base voltage is and it can lead to folks applying more or less voltage than they intended.

    Good luck with your project.

na its cool buddy and i appreciate the fact you brought it up :) I would be very sad if i just lost my new 1k processor to a simple mistake I wasn't aware of. Just wanted to let you know thats all. I do agree completely that they should let you set the actual voltage.

Does anyone know if the Xeon versions are supported on the Classified now?  I went through the bios pages and didn't see anything specifically saying they were supported.
