What does the Guest RMA go by to show how long a warranty a product has left?
Does it go by whatever the original owner entered for "purchased date" or does the Guest RMA go by the "EVGA Shipped Date".

Would like EVGA Tech or management to answer this please, not a non-employee forums moderator.  It's better to hear things from the horses mouth.

I have nnnneeeigggghhh answer anyway. I am curious as well, since I have a 780ti that has a really long time left on the warranty, and I think it is actually incorrect.

It would be the shipping date of the original card purchased according to our records, since the warranty would carry over to the subsequent cards starting from that point.

Ex. If the card in question is an RMA replacement for the original card and it was submitted for Guest RMA, the remaining warranty shown would go from the shipping date of the original card.

If the original owner registered the product with an invoice showing X date, would the Guest RMA used that date or the "EVGA Shipped Date"?

Just trying to make sure i understand more about the Guest RMA.

Original owner => Invoice purchase date (via registration and Standard RMA submission)

Guest RMA => Original shipped date

The original Shipped date = from when evga shipped the product out to authorized re-sellers, is that correct?

Re: Guest RMA Question 2016/06/27 06:32:19 (permalink)
Correct, a Guest RMA uses the date we shipped the product from our warehouse. If it is a product that was RMA'd before, it uses the original product's ship date. A Guest RMA does not take into consideration any dates from an invoice or receipt, as it is primarily designed for use by second-hand owners who wouldn't have a valid invoice. That said, anyone within the transferable warranty period from the date we shipped the product to the store can use the Guest RMA service.

If you are the original owner with a valid invoice or receipt, you can claim the full warranty period by registering your product and uploading a copy of the invoice to your account. Without the invoice for proof of purchase, we will also use the shipping date to determine the warranty period until a valid invoice is uploaded.

As Garrett said, there can be issues, usually involving people entering the wrong serial number, that can give false dates. If there's ever a concern as to the warranty period, please contact us directly via phone or email and we'll be happy to sort it out.
