I just recieved an EVGA GTX Titan Superclocked Signature. I ordered an EK waterblock and backplate, which is supposed to be here tomorrow, but I just noticed the warranty sticker is covering the ram on the back?? I haven't been on EVGA in a long time, and wasn't sure if the warranty is still valid if I move it 1/4 of an inch off the ram to install the backplate? I tried waiting for the hydrocopper, but couldn't, lol. I know I should have checked before hand, but does EVGA's warranty still cover the card if I install an aftermarket cooler? Thnx

Thnx Yes it's still covered by warranty as long as if you need to RMA the card, you can return it in it's original stock condition. As far as the serial# sticker if you need to move or remove it, EVGA generally suggests you document it in place with a photo you can send them and if you remove it, keep it in a safe place in case you need warranty service. In any event, contact EVGA so they can document this in your account.

I don't know if I have been getting luckier or what, but the last 6 cards I have received, the stickers are not anywhere near the screws that I take off to put waterblocks on. Before that, I ALWAYS had the sticker over the screws:)

mine is covering part of the ram chip itself. Wouldn't that cause the chip to overheat??

Jacob, is this why on say, the Titan (with memory on the back of card) that there were no attempts at making a backplate with cooling fins part of the bundle? I also can confirm that these do not get hot, but when OCing the memory, at that point would you recommend heatsinks?

To everyone installing backplates, don't forget that thermal pads leave an oil residue after a while, and if your warranty/serial sticker is too close to the thermal pads, I have seen the oil actually cause the numbers on the sticker to disappear, so be careful.

It's best to just remove the sticker from the card and keep it in the original box for safe keeping that way if you ever have to RMA it's already in the box ready to go.

lol, that would suck. I've only had one nvidia card that ever went bad, an 8800gtx from back in the day. Pretty sure i'll never need the warranty once the waterblock is on, but just to be safe, maybe I should get a safe deposit box, lol.
