Does the Gtx 780 officially support quad sli? I know Evga_ JacobF said no on this previous thread " http://forums.evga.com...?m=1938667&mpage=1" but then i did some more research and found many videos on youtube with computers  running a Gtx 780 in quad sli. This video from cyper power pc youtube channel shows them running 4 Gtx 780 in quad sli "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTMtOb2uRoo". I am not saying Evga_JacobF is wrong and I mean no disrespect and I am curious how they are running 4 Gtx 780 in quad sli. Are they running the 4th Gtx 780 as physic card? I am really confuse because I see picture and videos with Gtx 780 in quad sli and yes I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

I got grey goo'd

GTX 780 Quad SLI is not supported

I suggest you buy (4) cards and find out yourself what "not supported" means

Why wouldn't it be supported? It literally states it on the box

@CableGuy,

It was a misprint, and has since been corrected on the newer boxes. You cannot do 4-way sli on those.

Unfortunately Nvidia gimped that feature, so no 4 way on the 780.

Doesn't really matter to be honest. Benchmarkers gonna use Titans anyway since they're a tad bit faster. No one needs 4 780's for gaming.

my guess is no, that they're saving that "area" in this case 4-way sli, for titans

4 way (quad) SLI will be reserved for the GTX Titan. I don't see NVIDIA changing this anytime soon.

So from this point forward NVIDIA will be reserving 4-way SLI for their $1000 dollar video cards only? Dumb.

On the nVidia side even with Titan's, 4Way SLI is a bit of a joke as you really do hit the performance plateau at 3Way.

It is a matter of perspective: Graphics cards are just held back by the ever-popular low resolutions; once 4K comes, the situation will be very different-- at least until next gen technology finds a way to make Titan-equivalents much cheaper (but not having a 4-way capability).  Although those future flagships may not need 4-way SLI with even 4k surround, and then the cycle happens all over again.

Essentially, the only real problem with 4-way'ing GTX780/Titan is that 4K display are late, if they arrived at the same time it would have made more sense.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

As Jacob mentioned, Quad SLI support is limited to Titan as our flagship Geforce product.  We do not have plans to add Quad SLI support to other Geforce 700 series GPUs.

wonderful.  I have been waiting for a chance to get at someone associated w/ NVidia about this!  So tell me something.  What is it you guys gain by screwing us out of 4 way sli?  As a NVidia employee im sure you are aware that every gtx card from this point back has supported it yes?  So why remove it now?  Sure  im thoroughly pissed I have a 750 dollar fking PhysX card which is beyond despicable, but im also thoroughly curious as to the motivation behind doing something so pointless?  How did it benefit NVidia? Did you guys make 1 too many titans and you think that people are going to change their purchasing decisions based on the ability to add "one more card"? LOL you should fire the moron who suggested the idea.   While your at it you should offer everyone a refund on the boxes that were a "misprint" cause I ended up with 4 of them.   If I would have known there would "never be support" I wouldn't have bought them, plain and simple.  I saved for a long time which took a lot of discipline to afford it and fully deck out the first pc ive built in 7 years.   Now I cant use it to its fullest potential.

Absolutely screwy as ****.  Don't offer support. whatever. but unlock it so we can mod the ini then and use it if we wish.  I mean seriously?  I cant even find the words.   While your at it, please give me the email of someone who is someone that I can voice my distaste to and forward others to do the same.   I wouldn't begin to know who to direct my emails to.

I mean picture this scenario.   Hmmm - I want to run 4 gpu's.  Lets see here, I like the way the gtx780 looks, and I can get all 4 for 2000 if im patient!  OH WAIT A MINUTE! they don't do quad sli!!  I guess I better save up 1500-2000 more just so I can use 1 more card that I should be able to use the feature regardless of which card I purchase! You really think that's going to be peoples thought process? that you will sway any meaningful number of people into that decision? lol and you guys get the big bucks.  Im pretty sure 4 680's will handily destroy a titan too, so your going to pull quad sli from them too?   I mean W T F.

oh! another question while your here.  I was under the impression that the gtx line was your flagship gaming line.  That's no longer the case?!?  way to go out and let everyone know.  Almost disgusting enough treatment of your loyal customer base to warrant a switch to AMD.  It was marketed as a one off, almost collectors edition type card.   Even if that wasn't the case, it has been most peoples impression that ive seen, that it is meant to be a hybrid gaming/professional card like a gtx/quadro mix whereas the aforementioned were one or the other.   So you seriously plan on making the gtx .. what your mid range card? And now your flagship product is going to debut at 1200+ from now on?   You guys are off your fricking rocker! LOLOL    buy NVidia if your  1%er apparently they have lost sight of who their customer base is.

3Gb of extra VRAM, plus being able to officially run 4-way would be why I guess people still buy them....and to have the bigger e-peen...

If playing with 4K resolution the extra 3GB of VRAM might be a deal-breaker.
4-way makes no sense as scaling would be scare. Just for the benchmarks maniacs ;)

It still baffles me people even buy titans.. seeing as superclocked 780 acx from eVGA is the same if not better for 400 less.. lol..

Not everyone buys titans just for games, cause they are also a cheaper solution to the Nvidia Quadros since they make great work station cards as well.
