I built a hackintosh that was running fine for over a year, then all of a sudden while I was waiting for a friend in a game lobby, the screen turned green. At one point it turned green, then pink (at least I think so, red-green color blind here), then black. Now it's stuck on green again. It's not my TV, and I'm inclined to believe it isn't my OS either (guy in this thread had a similar, unresolved issue on a windows ). I switched the video output to my mother board and the screen works so I'm inclined to believe it is definitely the card. I submitted a request for repair to EVGA, but if it's a fix I can do myself without the hassle of waiting for the warranty shipping and what not I'd like to do that! So, has anyone had this issue before? Or know of a way to fix it? Is my graphics card dead?? Thanks

hi, i also have hackintosh lying around. There is a known issue with yosemite and El capitan (if you are using them this is it) from my experience it could be few things ... Kext (driver) corruption ... had similar issue like you and my screen was changing colors from time to time. when your motherboard bios shows after restart if the screen is normal then it's the OSx problem. could try inject EDID... or on your place i would reinstall everything all together. If you can enter you Bios and you see colors all normal it's 99.99% Software related. would be a shame to send the card because it won't really help you. also .. if you can add a screenshot i will try to look into your issue deeper. also ill need your motherboard Model .

ofc if you wish to be 100% sure... you can install Dual boot windows on this system and see if the card working fine there. or use the card in another computer (if you don't have try friend's comp) if you have none of this options ... then see my first post and ill need some info to try and help you out.

I can see the BIOS just fine, the issue doesn't occur until the OS (Yos 10.10.1) boots up. I did a fresh install, still got the green screen. Screen shot of what? The MB is Gigabye z97x-ud5h-bk. I don't have a way to install windows, and all my friends are console gamers, so I don't have a way to install it in another machine.

should have said it in another way. i meant photo the green screen with your cell phone and upload the photo here. about the motherboard... some poeple had good success resolving this issue with flashing latest bios. so, check if you are using the latest bios and if not flash it. also i will look in to this and as soon as i have any info i'll get back to you. i am sure it's software related. what version of OS do you have ? EL capitan or ?

Found some info till you get back to me with OS version... did you try using different port's HDMI DVI DP...etc? some people can't use HDMI with 750 TI and some can't use DVI ... also there are mixed results with different GPU Bios. some get it to work fine with palit and some with gigabyte bios flashed. not recommending to flash GPU bios though... just saying.

also try to boot with nvda_drv=1 and -V if you didn't already.

if you did boot already with what i wrote before this post then try this : i should have started with this actually ... easy way to see if it's driver related or not. boot with this command : nv_disable=1 -v this should disable the nvidia drivers and you will be able to log in. no fancy graphics but then you can see if it's driver related (something like Safe mode in Windows... with no GPU driver)

I tried the first boot flags and it booted with the vcard seated. It froze after about two minutes, tried again, same boots and back to getting green screened.
Second set of boots gave me safe mode that I was able to see. (No green)

Well that's a relief then. I've used multi beast this entire time. None of the settings were ever changed once I got it running smoothly. This green screen occurrence was just out of nowhere.
And I'm not entirely sure which drivers to install without potential getting kernel panics.
Thanks so far!

I've had the screen go magenta tint every once in a rare while when the video card is attempting to initialize a resolution. My issue was on Windows 10 though. Also, my issue is on GTX980ti. I think sometimes the Nvidia driver is a bit flaky on initializing the card and something is out of sync in the signal. 95% of the time no issue though. Which port type are you using? Mine is HDMI.

@Saijin I've tried several different cables. Both HDMI and DVI, same issue. @Brad I'm using HDMI. And its gone pink on me before, maybe it was magenta, again I'm colorblind lol. So I'm not 100% sure. @lordaeron I tried some different drivers from the website, I also tried letting CUDA automatically update the driver for me. Still back to the green screen. I havent been able to get it working again with nvda_drv=1, other than those 2 glorious minutes :'( And Im using multibeast BTW. I haven't found anyone else with this issue on a mac/hackintosh with this gtx760 model. Unless I just haven't looked deep enough x.x
