Took the plunge and got a GTX 780 6GB along with a new 30 inch Yamakasi 2560x1600 monitor. I have to say I'm loving the two new toys. The GTX was super simple to install and simply blows away my old msi gtx580 lightning extreme card. I've only had it a week but I'm super impressed. Maxed out all the games I have, crysis 3, bioshock infinate, skyrim (200 plus mods), watch dogs. Hell even overclocked it past the specs for the gtx 780ti without messing with the voltages.

With my new upgrade I was considering on upgrading my old classy 3 mobo and i7 960 but really after looking at the cpu load on stuff I'm wondering if I should wait another generation or two, or three. I have it overclocked to 4.0ghz and it seems to chew through everything. I was looking at the i7 4930 but I'm not sure it would be worth upgrading since everything I throw at my 960 doesn't seem to punish it too much. Though it's always fun to get new hardware!

You can wait a bit to upgrade the i7 960 if you want to. It's a fine CPU and at 4GHZ it's very competitive.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
