I think you might be right at it's limits... I have gone thru two of them and am now on my third... Thank you Micro Center... lol! Of course... I'm not using them as intended! The first... I purposely overloaded to see what it would do... one just shut down (the thermal protection worked) the other failed with an acrid smell... that was the first. The second should not have failed as I was watching how much amperage I was putting on it... but both rails failed. It is rated at 650 watts and 25 amps continuous on each rail... I don't think it even comes close to that. How many amps is 650 watts... lets see what is that ohms law I think that would be 650 watts divided by 12 volts = 54.16666666666 watts??? I know it will hold 18 amps per rail all day. 25 amps... I don't think so... at least mine didn't at only 21 amps on each rail.

One thing that I just noticed looking at my Corsair HX 850 (nice little 70 amp single rail) psu... it fits into 2-5.25" bays just like the Theramltake! When I got the PC Power & Cooling 1200 Friday... I stuck it in there too! Any ATX psu will fit... so with a slight mod of the power switch and plug to the other side and your good to go! Two 1200 watt PSU's... now we are talking!!! 200 amps of 12 volts to feed my power hungry tec water chillers!

It will work on any case I think... but this was on a Cooler Master HAF 932.

I sold my Corsair HX-1000... 40amp dual rails... like Nate says... two accounts... you end up wasting power trying to balance the loads. The HX-850 is a single rail.... single rail rules!!!

oh, i don't know...im not doing to bad with my little multi rail setup...has me pretty high in vantage rankings. all though im not using it at the moment...all these world record runs are running off the 1200w TT unit. edit: although...what are you benching that would call for another power supply? you dont have two gtx295's????

I haven't hooked it up yet... I need to re-wire it for the TEC's... I know the thermaltake is loud under load... I will let you know what I think. You have two chillers or two PC Power & Cooling 1200's?

DL 3dm03 now...man I remember these. Used to run them on my dell 4550 w/ radeon 9700! Still got it too..I keep it around for the legacy a: drive & lpt1 parallel port...some old dos programs just need that crap to run.

i done went on a benching frenzie and the cpu mhz keeps going up...even got a few 4.8 runs in for some of the older stuff.
what kind of physx score do you gt with using a 9800 gtx as a physx card?

4.797 is about 52'c and about 68 max on all 4 cores...but ill check in a few

ehh, its on and off. just been doing cpu test 1. the difference in voltage required to run 219, and 220, is tremendous. in terms of benching, 220 has been my highest. my tests keep crashing in the last few seconds.
