Well, After Much Researching/Buying Parts and working on trying to build an Enclosed Case Water Cooled System that I haven't Done in YEARS, I think it's Finally beginning to take Shape.

Now I remember Why I like to use an "Open Air" Benching Table Setup, It is SO Easy to arrange components without confinement limitations.

Regardless of That, I am making some headway into changing my Secondary Computer over from Air Cooling to Water Cooling, But it's going pretty Slow. Still have to decide what Pump/Reservoir Combination to Purchase/install.

HECK YEAH! My X58A-OC is alive!
I reflowed the BGA solder connections for the NB and it works now. Though the 4GHz button seems to be stuck on, I'll have to diagnose that.

Great to Hear it's working again!
That stuck 4G OC button probably just needs a spray of contact cleaner.

It can't be dissembled though which is a bit of a pain for cleaning. I tried spraying some high quality brake cleaner into it, hopefully it fixes it. It doesn't work for Westmere chips anyway AFAIK so it's not a big problem.

Glad to see the board works again!

I received an X5670 from ebay this week, got it for $60 which isn't bad at all. I'm going to be selling my X79 stuff and drop to X58 for the next year or two, mainly just for fun. The GTX 285 is just for testing, ultimately what I'm planning to do is get a 980Ti, 3x8GB DDR3, an Open Bench Table, and perhaps a PCIe SSD to cut down on my current 4 SSDs. I figure the OC board has USB 3 and SATA 3, so it would be little difference to go from X79 to it.

Yep. I have an h440 on the way too to make a server and get all of my HDDs out of my main case.

I don't think the NZXT cases look great, but they sure know how to make them functional.

My only complaint is that a 360mm rad doesn't fit on top with ODDs installed.

Actually, You can use a top mounted 45mm thick 360 radiator with fans on the bottom and JUST manage to squeeze in one ODD on the bottom slot by not using the forward two fan mounting screws.

Board is dead again. I think the NB chip is pretty much shot because heating it up will get it to work for a short period but soon dies.  I wish I could buy just the X58 NB chip from somewhere's.

Edit: Found some being sold on aliexpress for $30 a piece so I'll buy one and see if I can replace it.

Nope! Going to order one today from Amazon or ebay. Do you think the board itself is okay? I figure it probably is a setting in BIOS I need to change more so than a broken USB controller or something.

I would guess since it booted up before and now it is continually looping that the BIOS needs re-setting.

Yeah, I have a bunch of dead gpu's to practice on so I'll likely have no problem with it. Got the chip ordered up (AC82X58 SLGMX) and I should get it in a couple of weeks.

I need to do this for my GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme as well because the core is toast, I have to torch it every single time I want to bench it.

I really hope not. It POSTs successfully, sits at splash screen for a minute as though waiting for input (from non detected keyboard), then reboots.

Are you using the orange ram slots? Try each stick of ram by itself as well. And give the secondary bios a try if you haven't already.

Yep orange slots, 3 DIMMs. I tried running each stick in each orange slot individually, tried swapping PSUs. (previous one was an old old one and only had 8p + 4p CPU instead of 8+8). I also tried switching from X5670 to my old i7 960, still not able to get keyboard working.

So far, no luck, tried both BIOS as well. I think it boot loops because there's no SSD connected, thus no OS to load. It's possible it's just my keyboard, I'm really hoping the Logitech one coming works, that would make my life so much less stressful.

If I can get it up and running fully my X79 stuff is gonna go bye bye.

Well I got a 980Ti Hybrid today along with my PS/2 keyboard, so far no luck. It gets to the splash screen where it shows POST code 3E, then turns back off. Ideas welcome.

You said previously that you switched PSU's, But it made No difference. Can you check the operation of those PSU's by installing them a known working System?

Yessir I did that today, so far I have tried:

ABS Tagan BZ1100 (old)
CM Silent Pro Hybrid 1300W (in main system, tried today)
CM V1200 Platinum (just unboxed)

I initially tried with the ABS one, figured maybe it was old enough that the 5V rail had degraded. But it doesn't seem to be the problem.

I also tried with a GTX 285 Classified, 9800GTX+, GTX 570, and a Radeon 9250 (PCI), all of which had no effect. I'm confused because with a PS/2 keyboard I at least have power to it the whole time, but it stays stuck at the splashscreen and then shuts down.

I thought that 3E code would refer to a problem with the RAM or the CPU, But you tested/replaced those also. Maybe try to reflow the solder on the NB again?
