Shoot if you got those for free maybe I should order three (max my board could take), and then cancel the order. The score is KILLER! But 65C seems a bit hot on water, you sure you got a good mount?

This is not nearly as exciting as the Titan X's, but ohhhhhhhh boy it has me excited. For the last 3 years or so I thought my X58 4Way SLI and Gigabyte X58-OC were dead. I tested the GB OC board tonight with my ES X5570 CPU, it stopped POST at C1 and wouldn't output video/boot correctly regardless of any combination of things(which is what it did in the past as well). I was about to pack it up again as dead when I decided to throw my old i7 960 (retail) in it just for the hell of it. It booted! So the X58-OC works(!), and potentially my old E762 4XSLI will as well, I'm going to test that one tomorrow. Only issue is for some reason I'm not getting power to USB keyboards, so I'm not totally out of the woods yet(might need a PS2 one?), but getting to that screen is more than I've gotten before. I had the list of POST codes pulled up on my Surface there, and yes, Dr. Pepper is required for 1:00AM testing. Edit: C1 is memory initialization error, so I thought maybe the IMC was dead and that the 960 might work, that hunch paid off.

That's sweet! GL with the E762. I can only hope it goes this smoothly for my X58A-OC. Tried to boot it up one day and it just gave a 00/88 post code. Swapping out the cpu (eg. from 32nm to a 45nm chip or vice versa) without clearing the cmos will get it to boot into bios/windows but it dies again soon afterwards. I'm pretty sure the bios chips are toast. I have a few new chips on the way to try, I have my fingers crossed that they will get it running smoothly again.

Hallowen you are crushing it sir! I assume you say "would have" because FM HOF doesn't accept unrecognized cards/drivers? tucker147 That's sweet! GL with the E762. If the E762 also works and I can get the OC board to recognize a keyboard and ensure it fully works I think I'm going to sell my 3820 and X79 board. If I go that route I'd pick up an X5672/X5677/X5687 (4C/8T 32nm Xeon) or an X5670(6C/12T) and run the OC as a 24/7 board. Are the BIOS chips soldered on or in a socket? Either way replacing them might be your best option. That's odd it boots if you change the CPU out, it must be something relatively minor if it POSTs successfully.

Thanks Halo, Yes, FM doesn't recognize the Nvidia Titan XP and the 369.05 GeForce Drivers are Not Approved. I Just Hope that when the next Nvidia GeForce Driver is released for the Titan XP, It will also enable 3 and 4-way SLI for Benchmarking purposes (Like Nvidia Promised us) and Not turn out to be another LIE Like They did when they Told Us about the "Enthusiasts Key"!

Well well well..... When I hit power, it'll go through codes and hang at 25. That is "Shadow System/Vbios". If I hit the reset button on the board, it will start the POST code cycle again and this time it will finish POSTing correctly and go to BIOS. This works with the 960, I'm going to try the X5570 ES but I suspect it has a dead IMC. Oddly the BIOS on the E762 reads CPU temp as -43C. If I boot to an Ubuntu CD instead of reading CPU temp it just shows FF on the board. Not sure what's up with it and why hitting reset makes it boot properly, but that makes it boot and doesn't seem to affect the BIOS settings at all.

They are soldered on, not a problem though because it's only a 5min job with my hot air rework station. I should get the new ones this week hopefully.
