Vokl PM'd you i assume? I have been in coversation with him about filling up a team. I have wanted to do it in the past, but never had enough people for teams. Vokl is a 411 guy, and we have been talking about combining benching people from 411 and EVGA to have enough for a full fledged team. He said he PM'd multiple other people about it. I think it is a great idea if we can get a full team. Rules for Forum Wars this year: http://www.theraptorpit.com/forum/index.php?/topic/6161-forum-wars-2011-rules/ Basically if we want to fill a whole team, we need 3 people per class. There are 7 classes, so 21 people, but people can bench multiple rigs so really, less than that. Like for example, i could bench my i7 920+gtx480 in class E, and bench a q6600+gtx260 in class G.

Well I doubt we have enough people from evga only to fill 21 spots. I only skimmed through the email link do we have to have orb for 3Dmark, and the 3D benches are 06-vantage right? I might be willing to join if we could somehow find the people.
Would a 655k and 260 gtx be class G with DICE?

Remember 411 has a number of people too. If a few people ran two rigs, i think we could fill 21 spots. And anyways, we could at least filll some of the 3 man teams. Having every class filled would be for going for overall win, but if you win your class you still get prizes.
A 655k+gtx260 on dice would be 4(threads)+1(gpu core)+3(dice handicap) = 8. that setup would be class E.

So I'd be D-class then running an i7 930(8threads)+ a GTX 295 both on water? That'd add up to 11 if I'm correct.
Also, could I run my 8800GT at all for this? Never been in the forum wars before so I'm not too sure what happens lol.

You can run any combo of hardware you want, you just have to figure out what class. And if you want to run a second rig, it has to be different hardware than the first rig. I actually think this is the first year that they have used the point handicap for class restrictions. Before iirc, it was similar (# of cpu threads, gpus, cooling), but not as specific.
i7+295+water: 8+2+1 = 11. Yep you are correct.
You could run your 8800gt, but it would be in place of the 295. Or you could run it in a second rig.

Ah then I'll run only my 295 then.  So the way it works, no matter what hardware, people of the same class from different teams compete? i.e. someone with 2 580s on an i3 with LN2 could go up against me? Interesting concept since it seems likely that the CPU difference would be fairly large... Hmm...

You could easily bench 2 or 3 rigs awalleye.  I want to start keep a tally of people that will compete, to communicate that with Voklskier. I need definite yes's for competing, and what hardware - IF YOU GUYS COULD, LIST ALL THE HARDWARE YOU COULD COMPRISE SYSTEMS OF (gpus, cpus, cooling)- If i know all the stuff you guys have, i can organize rig suggestions for you guys to be in specific classes. If anyone wants to bench multiple rigs, that would be awesome. Just a rought guess, it could look like this: Me - 2 rigs (1366 and 775) Threed - 1 rig? (1156) Halo - 1 rig (1366) Nate - 1 rig? (1366) D1esel - 1 rig (1366) Awalleye - 3 rigs? (thinking a 1366 setup, 1156 setup, and 1155 setup based on your procs you listed.) One more thing, we might need to optimize our class structure, so you might not bench the max possible class you could if thats ok. That's already 9 rigs out of 21 we need, and Vokl and 411 will have many guys too! And if John and Q see this soon, we could probably count them in as well! This is looking like it could be a heavy hitting team if we get it together.

Hi guys just stopping in here. We would love to have anyone from EVGA join up for forumwarz. Keep in mind this is totally separate from HWbot, so benching for 411 for this one competition does not take away from that. I know that on our own neither forum has enough people to fill a team but we most certainly do between the two forums. Well guys, It's with mixed feelings that I am announcing that I am leaving team EVGA and joined team PURE. Kingpin and the boys have a lot to teach me, and I feel the move will help my benching in the long run. I had a blast on the EVGA team with John, awalleye, Nate, threed, Rabid, Halo, Diesel, Asylum, hellshealer, Ty_ger, and all the rest. We started it from the beginning, but now it's time to move on. I'll be here on the forums as usual, passing on tips and tweaks and generally having a good time. Thanks to all that helped me get where I am today!

Agreed John. Q I think it'll be good for you, but you better not stop posting here completely. And btw, in the coming months I may be able to pick up a 980X, if I do.... That 295 WR is in my sights. So if you get on one day and you don't have #1 anymore, it's cause I got it.  It's been great being able to have you on my team, and I look forward to seeing how you do over with the big guns.

I don't want to seem too repetitive, but i basically will say the same as the others, Q. Congrats on joining PURE, that is a huge step  , and i am really happy for you! But of course, at the same time, i am sad that you are leaving Team EVGA. Definitely still post here! Remember, it is the Get It Colder thread, not the Team EVGA thread.  And maybe you can bring us some of the massive wisdom of the real top-tier benchers from PURE. It has been a great run, and you will always be a part of the GIC Crew, no matter who you bench for.
