Well I tried CPU VTT all the way up to 300+ and Vcore all the way to 1.65v. I did start to notice that on CPU test 1 lasted a bit longer than before but it still got stuck. Anyone got any more suggestions ?  I think I need more Vcore but I really do not think it would be safe to keep pushing higher.

Thanks

EVGA VDroop Control ( WITH VDroop )    Without
CPU VTT Voltage ( +200mv )    try up to 300 if that doesn't work try 8-8-8-22

PCIE Frequency (Mhz) ( 105 )   108-110 this helps with card OC
MCH Strap ( Auto )   I use 1600 to help OC.
**IOH PLL VCore ( auto )  1.425v
CPU PLL VCore ( auto ) 1.425v

PnP/PCI     PCI Express
Maximum Payload Size ( 128  )    4096
That's what I'd try with your rig if it were in my hands. Make sure your using cold mode 1 or 2 in bios.
Great job so far!!! Remember if your craving more Hwbot points there's also 3D2001,03,05 and 3D2006 Go Team!

Ok I need some help as my head feels like its going to blow up. I am having a very strange  problem. I am trying to get 191 blck stable and I almost have it sometimes it will pass the cpu test 1 and cpu test 2 sometimes it won't and get stucks at the end of cpu test 1. I am at vcore 1.59xx with VTT  250. So I am like yea it just need a bit more vcore go I set it at 1.60v try again and it won't even go passed the middle of cpu test 1 it  get stuck in the start of the test. Then I try higher vtt 275 with vcore 1.59xx and same results gets stuck right in the start of cpu test 1. I have tryed all types of combinations of vcore and vtt but notthing will work. the best progress I see it works at and sometimes passed both cpu test is with 1.59xx vcore and vtt 250. I am going nuts trying to find out what is wrong and how to get this working I know I am close plz help.

@-60c my gpu went nowhere.  locked itself in at 1000/1125 no matter what the temps.  We need one of two things....more voltage, or a lucky card....I'll take either, lol!

Sounds like you could be hitting cold slow bug with your 580? I think they've made bios to help with that, just not sure where to get them...

I have a really humble rig.  It is in a mid tower case and doesn't usually compare very well to other enthusiasts who have similar hardware who have a fully decked out system with a real full liquid cooling system.

But to my surprise, look what I just noticed:

I have the fastest CPU-Z speed of any liquid cooled 965 on HwBot (and that is with just a H70).  There is one guy though who has a faster speed using "chilled air".

Humm...funny how we always compare ourselves to the very top guys, and feel very small in doing so.....  But when we compare apples to apples....stand tall my friend!

I was about to let the nitrogen gas out of my tank, and liquid shot out, lol!  Looks like I had about 5L left over from Tuesday, so I benched a few 2d tests tonight.  ( I hate 2d)  But added a few boints anyway.

@ dentnu, what made you bump your vtt to 250?  I'd keep it at 200 unless you're getting constant BSOD124's.   As well as increasing your pcie freq, try decreasing it back to 100 also.

well I tryed what you what you said I am at 191 blck, vcore 1.59xx and VTT 200 also put my pcie freq at 100 so I run the cpu test 1 and 2 and it passed. So I restart the whole complete benchmark but when it gets to cpu test one and about 80000 ops it freezes but to my surprise I press ctl atl del and what do you know it lets me end the process with having to reboot. I must be very close to having it stable but I just can't figure out what setting I need to raise. Any suggestions plz ?

That's fairly typical.  You may need just a little more vcore.  Did you try 1.6v?  Try every vcore setting above 1.59xx.

Thats the thing once I hit vcore 1.6xx its like it goes completely unstable as it gives me a hard lock causing a BSOD reboot almost as soon as cpu test 1 starts. I ill try once more see what happens thanks for the advice

Ok well I tryed every suggestion on here and I still can not get it to be stable on 191 Blk. Its a hit and miss somtimes its stable it sometimes I get BSOD 101 or 124. I went all the way to 166 vcore and 325 vtt and still nothing. So I give up it is just to much of a mission for 50mhz more and I do not think its worth so much effort since I am already on 1.65 vcore there really is no that much more  I can push i. I am very greatful to everyone here that has helped me as I was able to get it stable at 4.7ghz which is 190 blk. Its a pretty  big jump from my 4.5ghz and I always thought it was impossible  to reach anything over 4.5 and with you guys help I was able to do it.

Thanks

P.S. I was able to lower the Voltage on my 580 from 1138mv to 1125mv as I started to get gray screens. So I was able to get my 840/1880/2200 with a 1125mv  perfectly stable I am going to see if I can reach 850 wish me luck.

Alrighty guys, I can get a TRUE 120 Black for $40 shipped. Should I? 226W TEC would be sandwiched between Apogee GTZ CPU waterblock and it. (Cold side would face CPU block ofc, hot side would be on the TRUE. What kind of temps would that give?

NEVER give up, just take some time to re-group.  Last I recall I didn't bench anything LESS then 300 Vtt.  I noticed the higher I went the more I added to VTT and it worked.  I think at one point I was around 450 and up in the 5GHz, but don't quote me- its been SUCH a long time.  I haven't benched since last MAY!

You going the TEC route?

Yea I woke up thinking about this since I had a bad nightmare just about benching lol  then I saw your post. Its to bad I had to work if not I would have started benching this morning. I will most likely try to later on once I get home from work if not tomorrow.

Thanks for the  comment

My pleasure.  I would suggest getting one of those EVbots- makes life so much easier.

Tempting it wouldn't really cost all that much, maybe $100 range. For 24/7 chilled water. But I wonder what kind of temps it would give..

Not sure about TEC cooling Halo, you might try over @ XS or that Chillernr1 guy building the SR-2 with TEC they should help you out...

I'm just curious as to what kind of temps it'd get. If I could get ya know, 10C or so that would be nice.

Edit: seems I lost the quote I made of Nate.. Oh well.

Oh boy...now why'd you go and do that?  I just added up your points...192.8.  Are there any that are obviously missing?  PM Massman and see what he has to say.  Screen shot your sig quick just so he knows where you were.

Alright new idea, what if you take a Corsair H50/H70, use it to cool the hot side, and the put the coldside facing the Apogee GTZ block(Would be using this in line with main CPU loop).

So the sandwich would look like this...

120mm fan(For H50 rad) - H50 <-- Hotside/Coldside --> Apogee GTZ

While the whole CPU loop would be like:

MCP 355 --> Apogee GTZ(TEC)--> EK Supreme HF(CPU) --> MCP 355

Ideas on temps? If they're low then I'll definitely look into it lol.

Thanks for lookng into it Q, I'm wating on about 50 points for 2D benchmarks to calculate. Plus I over looked a SuperPI 32m worth 10, so once those go through calculation I should be square. I remember after my session last time it took about a 1-2 days before they went through. I'll have to keep an eye on them the next 2 days. These say no pints and the wPrime 1024 4.1 is global waitng for 18 points on that one.  They are on my submission page but not my points page yet, we'll see.
