Classy III Sold/traded my other Classy to a friend thinking I would wait for sandy bridge. But after blowing my gpu scores out of the water but not beating overall scores using P55 chips decided I wanted/needed another X58 board.

Thanks awall! its great to be home! Q, the classy 3 is the same classy, but with 6Gb sata ports (if I read correctly) Remeber I said I would post some pics of what I was working on the other day? new DIY posted. Me and some Aluminum got in a fight... and I won.

I know of a few EVGA folks (some employees & members here) that bench for other teams. I guess they were just snatched up by them before us. I think it would be cooler to have it more like the Olympics, and be a country team.

Yes, he used to be. Snipe left 3-4 weeks ago to bench for i4memory.com (an Aussie team where he is from). He's still a good bud though.
We just have to keep plugging away at it....patience and persistence will pay off.

 So, I put my 295 on water. And disaster struck. My brother spilled a small amount of water from a cup on it, got the first PCIe and second PCIe a bit wet, also the PCIe slot had the 295 in it so the gold strip along the bottom was wet. Card redlighted instantly, and then the rig shut down. This was thursday night, and I tried booting today, no go. Red light still. Am I just totally screwed with both dead or is it more likely that it's just the motherboard? (Hopefully just the board) I'm, needless to say, a bit concerned.

I assume you took it all apart to let it dry? Even if you did, try using a hair dryer or heat gun on it for a while, to get as much moisture gone as possible.
Do you have another rig to try the card in? Also, if you have another card, try that in the mobo in question. If you do, try that, and that should tell you if your card or mobo is bad.

Another rig to try the 295 in: Negative
Pulled apart to dry: from thursday till today with a fan blowing on it
Another card to try, yup I have my 8800GT, PITA though cause now I have to pull the whole WC system
Oh well. I can just use my tech bench setup for testing purposes.
Really hope it's the mobo, cause I would rather replace that anyways.

They sell on eBay for $250, if you can't rma and get a dual they don't seem so precious... But if they gave you a 480 gtx that's different

Halo, Sorry for the 295 issue.  I would take the card apart from the water block and inspect for damage. There might not be any damage, so I would let it dry a few days. You could speed up drying by artificial means if you like (hairdryer, heatgun), but don't get too close! Oh, there are dualies left over for RMA purposes. They stink though....you'll be lucky to get a good one. If you end up going the RMA route, you will need to talk with evga to request the dual card, or else they might just send out a co-op.

The card has been out since Thursday, I've got the whole rig running on my ghetto test bench right now, so I can swap easily. Wouldn't it have been dry by now?
