What aquarium water chiller would you recommend for a beginner like myself that is just getting into water chilling?

Thanks,

Perfect theme song, ROTF.

Speaking of "D'oh, I shouldn't have done that" moments.  Would it be ok to disable a pci-e slot for one of my two cards and just run single card.  I always did this before, but now that I'm sub-zero, I think it may cause condensation on the card that's turned off.  Is there a load being placed on the "off" card?

negative...you'll burn up the card and possibly the board (not sure how long it will take). once the board is turned on...power is going to the pcie slot. and not enough heat is generated to keep the condensation under control. (speculation of course) i tried it with mine, and it was water central. that's why i made the lines long enough to pull out one card without emptying my setup or taking it apart.

Thanks for the confirmation John...I thought that might be asking for trouble. I'll just drain the loop. I found a real easy way to drain my loop in literally 5 seconds.

Just insert a trumpet/cornet mouthpiece into the end of the loop and blow! All liquid goes back through the pump into the reservoir. It's a little hard blowing back through 3 blocks, but nothing a healthy person couldn't manage. Now I know why the flow is just a dribble even using a 1000+ gph pump. Not only does the extreme cold liquid make it sluggish, but the resistance of the blocks is much greater than I ever thought. Anyway, even if you don't play, you can pick up a trumpet mouthpiece for $25 or under at any music store or on ebay.

if it's moving to slow...add more water than prestone or windshield wiper fluid...just enough to make it run faster, but not enough to freeze in the lines. i ran straight prestone and had to drain half of that and dilute it with water...then my flow ran like normal.

nice little move there...when i drained the whole system, i disconnect right from behind my pump..and let the pump empty the system.

John has the right idea.  I have each component with a 2-3' long "pigtail" where I make all connections outside the case so you can easily pluck & chuck video cards.

these test results should show you why:

I have some and the performance is good, but its really dry. Doesnt spread very well when you apply a pea sized drop.

I think the next TIM I get will be OCZ Freeze. Not really worth the $$$ to get that 1c drop. Easier ways to get it.

WOW, damn near 5GHz!!

So volk is the only one here with no love for this IC Diamond stuff? I ran out of ceramique and have been using that uber expensive MX3, and I am about out of that stuff 2.  I like that the IC Diamond is also not capacitive or conductive like ceramique.  Plus its cheaper then the MX3.
