Feels good right now...I have a feeling I'll have the Monday morning blues, though, lol!!
I got quite a bit past 76k cpu score when physx cranked out a 228 steps/s, but that was just cpu tests, no overall score.
Why haven't I built a chiller? Because I'm stupid. Nate, if you want to help me and give me a shopping list, I'll start it this weekend. I already have the a/c and the windshield washer fluid!!

Oh yea, running with no-physx looks like a physx run now, albeit much slower. Six pairs of those "loops" show up now to match the six cores.

If anyone wants to do an Ultimate SR-2 build, it will only cost you $17500. This includes a couple of things that are unnecessary for just benching though, like $5400 in SSDs, 6 sepearate WCing loops, x2 BD-RW's, etc.
$6200 for just the CPU\Mobo\GPU\RAM though.

Well, a tad off subject. Bad news followed by good news. Bad news: i7 975 Batch#3922A384 which I got other day has to be worse batch Intel ever put out. It was not even stable at default settings. If I left everything on Auto for voltages then system would apply what is requested by chip. By default this thing required 1.265v VCORE and a +250 VTT. It would also place VDIMM at 1.64. If I attempted to run anything that would 100% load this puppy, it would BSOD either a 9c, 101, or 124. For default I had to apply 1.31v VCORE w/+300 VTT to get stable. This is running 3.466ghz w/turbo default. Don't even ask about OCing. Good News: It pays to have high friends in low places. I called my buds at my local shop and ask if they could run the chip through their Intel Channels and they said no problem. I take the chip to them, them contact their Intel folks, ship chip Monday and should have replacement in via Cross ship either Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Hopefully it will be a much better batch that the one I got. Ok. That's it. You can now resume with your regularly scheduled post.

Buy one with the extended warranty that allows you to do cross shipping at there cost. For a $1000 chip, a $100 extended warranty doesnt sound like a bad idea.

Some initial impressions of the 980X on 3dm06 and earlier.....not much advantage at all, and there may not be any advantage. 3dm06 for instance: Even using the same GPU clocks of 805/1265, 980xat 4692, loses 2,000 points! CPU goes up by 500 points, but gpus are underpowered for some reason. Aquamark...disaster! lost 100,000 points. And these two benches are supposedly cpu heavy. Still testing, and maybe I have to dial it in differently, but doesn't look good. I don't understand cause Andre Yang got 13k+ on 3dm06 w/ 980. Maybe it's just me...hummm
