i sold so much hardware that is worth TONS of bot points.  Dual Cores and 8800 GTS's.  man if only I benched back then.  I am trying to borrow an E-8400.  If I do well with that chip... the scores are worth tons.  I got a celeron D laying around, but thats only worth 2 points for most gold cups even.

Reg, right now, yes, I think gulftown will make me .  That's one I'll probably jump on pretty quickly....I'll wait on the gtx 480's until I see some real reports.  In other words, as soon as kingpin benches them.....I'll make my decision.

Sadly Dell Lappies have no real way to be OCd from what I've found so far. I have a Studio 17 with a T9600. If I could OC it trust me I would have numbers up already for it. Sadly nothing so far.

You guys can try Speedfan.

You will have to try random PLL's (the crystal clock that sets the FSB mhz), and use CPU-Z to see if its working. This allowed me to overclock my 1.2ghz Thunderbird that had an Asus motherboard from an HP in it (no OC options). You wont be able to change voltages though, so you will be lucky to get any extra mhz you can get.

Other programs usually wont allow you to try random PLL's the way Speedfan does.

Lets say you have a massive solid based copper POT.  If you drills holes down into the bottom of it, and fill it with copper BB's, and then solder them?  You will have tons of surface area, because the acetone and LN2 will find its way around all the spherical balls and add tons of surface area and more mass.

Man how much hardware do you guys have??? Huge runs shock. I cant seem to squeeze anymore points out of my rig at all. I ran vantage for 4+ hours last night and couldnt top my score. I even ran a test at 1190/1290 and it did me no good.

Oh yea, work on that Halo...you're seriously being held back with vista.  Seriously....

Wonderful now I have to start taking everyone's lap top.

Nice 5850's clocks are like nothing I have ever seen and the 5870s are better you might be able to get a single card cup before the new cpus hit.

Interesting... I like it. Not sure how well the cold would transfer from said BBs to the pot though..

They would be soldered and make minimal contact with the sides, but still making contact.  circles have lots of surface area so the heat would transfer through the solder. 

I have the sexiest chunk of copper sitting in front of me right now.  it weights over 2 pounds... and it is going to be marvelous.  I am trying to get ready for an entire weekend of benching.  I hear lots of snow coming..?
