Scarlet-Tech Have you considered precision 5.2.4, the newest version? It still doesn't enable KBoost with SLI setups, but it seems to be more stable overall. It is the first revision (for x15/16) I haven't deleted yet.
Define "more stable"?

I am having less driver crashes with it, than I did with 5.2.3 I removed .3 pretty quick with how my cards acted. I do occasionally get a shutdown in games, but they seem to be linked to the game specifically (bf4, I started playing again).
With .3 I was getting random crashes when I would apply any extra voltage or overclock at all. I have never had this issue before, so it makes me feel more comfortable using the newer version that is more stable. (still getting occasional crashes, so it isn't completely stable for me).

Thanks again John, I'll try those changes tomorrow and see what happens.

"...few of us..." is a very correct statement. Percentage wise, you make up less than 0.001% of the computer enthusiast market. But alas, it's still fun to watch you guys do what you do even if the rest of mankind doesn't benefit in the slightest :P Now, if you really want to impress folks...how about use the Peltier cooling and have ZERO condensation? Or better yet, how about using a Peltier cooler AND a cooking oil type submersion method where the oil is also actively cooled using large radiators :D But then, I saw this done already. Intel dev team demonstrated this at a recent Intel LANFest party. Twas very cool to watch...literally!

Extreme oc'ing looks like a lot of fun & I'm thinking of giving it a try on my old a8-3870k (or an old Phenom II) as an experiment. What would you guy's suggest for a good starting substance? I was thinking a saltwater & ice mixture to start off with (worked decently well with testing, -9.45c (can get colder with right mixture)with an ambient of 13.8c{and I know this isn't the best idea due to the salt water corroding things}) and work my way down from there. Err, scratch that. Not really practical for actual usage. Any really cheap cooling pots out there (sub $100-150)? And, what materials would you recommend for insulating the board? Thanks in advance.

You can buy a simple water chiller and connect it to any water setup you come up with. and can be used for 24/7 use. Heck, if the loop is long enough. You never have to actually turn it on for everyday use. They can get as cold as -30 to 0 to 10C. or you can make one. This would be the best starting point. Why? because you can still run some extreme by dropping the water temps and when done. Raise them.

I just remembered that there is an old dodge van (parts car) parked behind my dad's shop that still has the a/c system. If I can disassemble it I could turn it into a phase change system, all I would need is a compressor and an evaporator block with a mounting bracket to get it to work. You guys know of anyone who could make me an evap. block w/ mount?

Ok, I pulled the condenser (full aluminum), it's looks to be in decent condition but definitely needs some cleaning. I also found this, perfect size for a quad 120mm wc rad, has the fittings and everything (520 x 120 x 35mm{13 FPI}). Unfortunately it's completely made of aluminum, on the plus side: it's really light because of that. And I found an old water cooler, I'm going to use the compressor from it, would it be good enough? The tank/compressor is roughly 6 x 6 x 6in (or smaller) so i'm thinking it's too small.

That condenser is about the size of mine, except for mine is half that size and double the thickness. (So yours flipped in half) I have 4 fans on it.

Ok, good, it's big enough then. What about that water cooler compressor, is it big enough? Or does size not matter?

awalleyeguy That's your car, wow! Picked you had a nice mustang. But wow.
Thanks, I've put around $114K in it over the years, and I Always get a Lot of Comments when People find out it belongs to a 69 Year Old "Senior Citizen". LOL!!
So what if you are 69, my late Grandfather Ron had a Cobra that he drove until he died in his 70s, his youth caught up with him, and he was one of the best drivers I have ever ridden with even in old age. Also, Carroll Shelby was building great stuff into old age as well. If you are 69 with a badass ride that you can and will use, more power to ya! Im a gearhead myself, and hope to still be doing it at your age good sir.
