johnksss ... Q couldn't have said it better
I had a blast on the EVGA team with Nate, Hallowen, Awalleye, , Threed, Rabid, Halo, Diesel, Asylum, Hellshealer, Ty_ger, and all the rest. We started it from the beginning, but now it's time to move on. i will still be in the forums of course, helping when i can. ... I was included?!??! Thanks so much! It is sad to see all you guys go. I myself have been pretty dormant on this. I have pretty much used up all the easy/cheap points I could gather and now am stuck where I am. If I am to continue, I will definitely have to get it colder.

tyger, we will get you where you need to be. You will be a force to be reckoned with when you put all those volt mods with some sub zero temps! We lost some of our biggest points (and active) guys. Guess we all have to up our game. We have over 50 people on Team EVGA. We just have to fire up the rest of the team.

I feel like such a slacker, I haven't benched in MONTHS. I have equipment here just collecting dust. This CNC machine has been a biblical undertaking which has taken all of my free time. I am dialing it in though and once its complete, I can make any waterblock I want; chipset, vreg, cpu, gpu, anything.

Thanks everyone for kind words. Well after being on here with Nate so much and him sharing his projects it started to rub off on me . Been working on this project for the last 2 weeks or so. Yes I'd love to have a Tek-9 fat but @ $220 I can't afford it right now. So I thought I'd try seeing what I could whip up. Before this I had no clue how to solder copper only the stuff I'd done with an iron. I used a pen torch I got for $10, a few shims of copper from home depot and an old CPU waterblock I had to grind down with a rotary tool. The block is about 1/4" thick with a 1/2" stand off in the middle, the total cost was around $35 to make it . Plan on using the pot with DICE within the week. I want to see what kind of temps the pot will hold with and without load. Not expecting to much out of it but we'll see lol Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Thanks D, doesn't have much mass so I'd be happy with -25c. Only using this for smaller gpu's 9500gt, 9600 and maybe 9800 gt. Can't see trying my 260 on it though. Any word about Forum Wars???

I checked 411 and trp earlier today and didnt see much of anything new. Do we start tomorrow subitting scores at stock speeds or what? BTW, if your custom block can get those small cards that cold i'd say it would work fairly well on a 260. 0C or better since its only on the gpu.

If it were me Threed, I'd go right to the best gpu and see what happens. Looks good on the Ghetto pot Here's how I insulate my cards, the gasket around the GPU being the most important part.

Nice Threed. That looks pretty sweet. So boys, I think it's time I started using benching OSes... What to use? I'd like a 7 64bit and a XP 64bit. Also how do I set it up to run 2 versions of Win7(one 24/7, one benching), and an XP... All on a single 1TB drive? lol.

I got a whole bunch a crap loaded on one of my win7 os's that a strict traditional bencher would say is crazy. Games, steam account, antivirus....I've never seen it make a real difference. Runs benches the same as my clean os's. That's just my experience, but then again I'm not WR holder in superpi either, lol!

Hey Q I'm assuming that prep is for a pot due to the thick gasket around the gpu. If I insulate my cards for a block do i just need to prep it with eraser? Or does anything need to go over that? Seems like it cant be to thick or the block wont make good contact with the mem, vregs, etc.
