haha, well it seems unanimous. Ya, i'm gonna bench them. I probably would have without asking, but the push from you guys always helps. Oh, and the card i thought was an 8600gt actually is a 9800gt ee (once i pulled it out i obviously saw what it was). What should be the highest mV i should push the 295 on air? @Halo: I get the cards as long as i take to fix up the systems. I worked on them today, and both seem to have bad PSU's, but i think i'll wait a week or two to tell my family friend. @reggie: i wish i could throw them under some DICE. But i have no gpu pot. I'm still looking for a cheap one. *cough*Nate*cough*

Mine were like John's and Nate's...they could go 1200 on air, 1300 on H20. To be safe you could just use Evga VT and just go to max 1188. I wouldn't waste too much time getting up to 1188 either.

Making some head way with my 920, at 3c it will start taking higher volts and in turn letting me reach a higher bclock. Haven't dug into very much busy weekend. Thought I might have trouble with my koolance 345 CPU block since its 3 pieces but it works like a charm. I don't even need to cover up the lock down bolts, makes for easy tear down.

Can't load over 96C on GPU 1 or it crashes. Such a shame, 1200mV used to load @ 90C in IL. In FL 1163mV loads that high. Need money for tek 9, but when I get it I will let you know.

How do 3dMark tests load the proc temp-wise, compared to linX? Just thinking a bit, as i need to get my i7 up some more if i want to get some nice bench scores with the 295, 8800gtx, and 9800gt. Right now it's at 4ghz, 1.35vcore, idles at 50*C on a bad day, 43*C on a good day, and on full load linX it is around 80-90*C once it gets into it. I'm hoping to get to at least 4.4ghz bench stable.

@reggie: just ran some Vantage cpu tests. I am getting around 75*C, so a little less that linX. Is it better for 3dMark (any of them) to run w/o HT and higher speed or with HT and lower speed?

You'll be able to reach a higher OC for sure than doing Linux runs. I would stay with Vantage as your CPU test for stability that should set the bar for the other 3D tests.

Vantage cpu test 1 is the tougher than '06. There are no specific cpu tests on 05/03/01 so you can usually get away with much higher clocks on thoses. YOu need to be up 4.4Ghz to start pushing the gpus and getting good scores
