just brought the card about a month ago from the states using amazon.
ran fine for a while but videos started to stutter while watching them recently and so have some video games.
movies (videos) now freeze, ive downloaded a temp monitor to check ad for no reason while watching tv shows the temperature starts to rise, it has reached 67C ! not even playing a game. when i move the mouse the video starts playing again and the temp goes down.

I have reinstalled the drivers 2 times now but no change from Nvidia, the card still overheats. when installing the version here it says couldnt find a compatible VGA card??
I have installed my old card *Geforce - 660 gtx* and runs normally.
Kindly advise on how to solve this.

My pc is pretty good, these are the specs,

    Hello,

There could be some issues with your current or past driver installation.

I would completely wipe the drivers with a program called DDU (display driver uninstaller) which you can download here:
    http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

If you ever had an AMD card in your system I would also use the tool to wipe the AMD drivers as well.

After running the program and removing all your current display drivers re-install the most up to date graphics drivers (you can download them at geforce.com or evga.com) and see if the issue persists.

If the steps MDecker gave you fails, it might be a Windows problem.

    Couple of things to try:

    1. Open the command prompt as Admin. Type in "sfc /scannow" and press enter. Windows will scan all windows files for any corruption and fix them.

    2. Grab the free tool CCleaner. Use the registry scan cleaner 2 or 3 times (to make sure you got everything) and reboot.

    3. Barring everything else not working, I've heard of this problem a couple of times and a fresh windows install has fixed the problem for others. Be sure to save any pictures and other data that you don't want to lose first!

Edit: you might also want to check windows power settings and set to prefer maximum performance. If that doesn't help, maybe check in BIOS for any power saving methods that might be causing this.

removed the drivers using DDu, used CCleaner *already have it * made a clean install and forced a reinstall on DirectX drivers.

Things seem to be working fine.

    Thanks a million.
