I recently got a new graphics card, i got the GeForce GTX 550Ti 2gb and im having some issues. Ever since i installed (i don't even know if i installed it correctly i just winged it, but i mean its working right now i see everything fine) every so often my computer will freeze or the image will stutter and freeze, the fans seem to be blowing really loud also. I think i have successfully deleted the old drivers from my computer since they're not showing up on the "Uninstall a Program" in Control Panel and i have downloaded the newest drivers for the new graphics card.

Computer specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (if this matters)
Processor: AMD Anthlon(tm) II X2 260 Processor ~3.2GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks! Let me know if you need additional info and where i can locate it for you.

Box says minimum watt supply needed is 400w and i have a 500w power supply!

I did the update drivers step as indicated and it says i have the latest drivers already installed.

I just tested with speed fan and here are the results after playing a game:

56C ~ GPU
51C ~ Temp1
50C~ CPU

And yes this only happens when im playing a game.

Sometimes comp drops to like 04FPS and i have to restart to get it working again

First things first, what version is your gpu? is it stock clock, overclock, or superclock?  Next, have you messed with any of the settings in evga precision?  If none of those, then it might not be your gpu.  just because your screen freezes does not mean it is your gpu.  It could possibly be your CPU or ram.  But if your fps is dropping to 4, then it seems like its throttleing.

    @Fusionchaos

I havent messed with any of the clocking stuff ever since i bought this already built computer from wal mart so its stock clock. I don't know what the problem is, i was just guessing it was the graphics card since all this started when i put in this new graphics card. Computer would run perfect with the last graphics card so i assumed the graphics card was the issue.

I highly suggest that you -uninstall- SpeedFan

*SpeedFan is KNOWN to have serious issues when using Windows 7, a modern 500 series Nvidia card and using such older MB/BIOS/CPU

Use the latest version or Precison or Afterburner

    Uninstall it
Use the latest version of EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner to monitor your videocard

If the fans are "Blowing really loud" as you said, then you might be having temp issues due to airflow

What computer case are you using?

    You say you "added" RAM
That system comes with 4 gigs.....

Did you buy (4) 2gig sticks to make 8gigs -or- did you buy (2) more 2gig sticks to "add" to the ones you had?
If you did just buy (2) more sticks, what is the exact make and model of the "extra" sticks you bought?

I belive that THIS IS PROBABLY your primary issue

Where did you get the sticks you added?

I could not find any information on the installed RAM (that came with your system), so how did you buy sticks that are matches for what you had?

I belive that this is what is causing your problem

Im sorry i added (1) 4gb ram stick to make it 8gb.

I purchased the ram stick from a local store called Geeks they have a website also called "geeks.com"

I personally dont know anything about computer hardware all i did was see that it was 4gb and that it fit my motherboard and i bought it and put it on turned on the computer and played.

I will open up my computer and let you know the models of the ram sticks.

Shut down the computer, then turn OFF the switch on the powersupply.

Remove the 4gig stick you added in....  your computer should now work fine.

Your system uses Dual Channel memory sticks, they come in "pairs" of (2) sticks each.
By adding in just one stick of non matching RAM you "broke" the Dual channel mode your system uses.

Your computer uses a very old MB chipset called a NF630
This chipset can only run certain RAM sticks (speed, voltage), and they -must- be installed in matching pairs.

I highly suggest you call CyberPower tech support and find out the -EXACT- RAM (with Speed, timings and voltage) needed for your system. Then either buy a "matching" pair for the sticks you have, or throw away what you have and replace it with "new" sticks (always in matching pairs) that go with your motherboard (speed, voltage) that you got the information on from CyberPower.

For now, just remove that stick you added and see if the problems go away or not

I took the ram sticks off and i copied everything in each sticker from each ram.

And response to your feedback i don't remember which exactly was the one i purchased since i purchased long time ago when i got the computer and this problem only started happening when i purchased this new graphics card.

    stick #1:
    Cendyne
    4gb DDR3 PC3-10600
    CDN1333D3D8C9-4G
    VA1 1124A

    stick#2:
    ADATA
    AD301333C4G9-B
    DD3  1333(9) 4 GX16 U-DIMM

So you only have (2) sticks installed?
One 4gig "Cendyne" and one  4gig "ADATA"?

I can find no information on the ADATA stick whatsoever with the numbers posted.

The Cendyne stick is not much better...

Yes that is correct i only have (2) sticks no more slots for more.

Thats all the info on the stickers on the RAM sticks.

So out of the 2 which one you recommend i take out?

Run a analyze pass on "AMD Display Drivers"
    see what comes up

For the RAM sticks I guess they were working, put them back in (same slots). We can check them with CPUZ later.

Its 2am here, how about we pick this back up tomorrow night?
