a Titan X Hybrid is needed way more than a 980 was.

Sadly, since this was planned 5 months ago, and the Titan X wasn't released, that wasn't possible. They have already stated that there may be an adapter shroud for the Titan X.

Link to info about the possibility of a Titan X adapter please?

So I know on the product page it says that the standalone AIO is compatible with a reference 980, however I'm curious as to how its installed? To my knowledge there are no holes to pass the tubing through. Would I be expected to make my own holes or am I expected to use the non reference cooler? I know it may seem petty to some but aesthetics are a make or break deal for me.

They include a new shroud with the cutouts.  No worries.

Look in the product pictures.  It comes with the new shroud (reference design) with the holes like on the 980 AIO.

It is not reference as in a metal Titan cooler from Nvidia, but it is reference as in the more cost effective solution from EVGA that is still a blower style cooler.

Then you will have to drill your own holes, as the cost of the Nvidia Titan cooler is too costly for EVGA to manufacture separately. That is why the Titan cooler version of the EVGA card costs more than any other version with the same clock speeds.

My question, regarding the warranty covering water damaged components if a leak occurs, was answered. Not too sure that the answer makes me feel secure enough to buy one of these.

I was reading the "tug of war" and my response towards that is > That's by far the first thing everyone should be asking about this GTX 980 hybrid, I thank you for that....I mean it's common sense for EVGA or any other company to be thinking first about "leakage coverage" when a project like this were just talked about. I could be wrong, but believe CoolIt were the first with this self contained LC-GPU concept and product until they closed that section down for some reason!? "Corsair" and that was back in 2003-2004, since then I've been saying' one day this will be the "norm", but like always they will slowly "milk that cow the best way they know how" $$$$ then introduce it only with specific GPU's $$$$....It took a few modifiers to create there own type self contained LC-GPU frame and sell it within overclocked forums, pretty much work for those that were willing to risk it. That's how I know that NZXT Kraken cooler came about, NZXT were smart taking on and selling that product and now we have these companies competing for future self contained LC-GPU's



I want to see Corsair LC-GPU version and their coverage, I read and know they honored a few in the past on forum for leakage damage.

How is the VRM cooling on these cards. Is it just reference, straight fan blowing down onto the VRM(I assume?) or is there a heat sync on the VRM? One thing I dislike about some watercooled GPU is the VRM cooling(like the accelero arctic lines IV) they just cool VRM with backplates. Chip is useless if another part of the card is burning up over years of use.

The VRM and memory cooling is with the stock fan.  The included shroud allows air to blow through the VRM heatsink out the back of the case.

any word on ACX version if so coming any time soon? i have tax returns to spend and want these but not going to wait if going to be a while TIA

Update on Hybrid Cooler / TITAN X compatibility, it actually does work and fit. The only issue is that the shroud will say GTX 980 on it :p
 
Let me clarify this statement. YES it works and can fit on TITANX, however, the cooler was and is OFFICIALLY only designed for the GTX 980.

10 year warranty..... someone is on a replacement for me later path...

How much power does it draw though - any concerns with running it on an OC'd TITAN X? Have specs for tubing length too? Also, any word on availability of the standalone units? I can't remember if they were in-stock before... but they sure aren't now... and I WANT TWO! 

I'm very interested in tubing length specs too... I'd need to run two in SLI and I'm trying to picture how I'd lay that out in my case.
