This has been a problem with 900 series since they released.. They have been out for 6 months now, and they are working to get it reduced. This isn't an EVGA problem, and a 10 second Google search will reveal that every manufacturer has this problem.
If you get it with multiple cards after doing an RMA, you may have another component allowing the issue to continue. A lot of the times, the power supply can be a contributor to coil whine as well.
Things to try, if possible:
If you can test the card in another system, give it a try and see if it continues.
Try a different power supply if you have another that you could try.
Things to try, not requiring anything but a download and some Patience:
Burn in process. Download Unigine Heaven and start it with everything on max. Make sure tessellation and everything is as high as it will go. Let it run over night or while you are at work/school. This should help reduce the noise.
There have been 3 complaints of people saying it made their coil whine worse, but it leads back to the possibility of the PSU being a culprit as well. A brand new power supply may not function 100%, and if it isn't, then it may cause the card to stress trying to get power supplied properly.
