Are you trying to install PhysX in Safe Mode?  If so, you can't.  PhysX requires MSI which isn't available in Safe Mode.  Read the Release Notes.

But you can (re)install or remove PhysX at any time from normal Windows mode.

No, im trying all this in normal mode, I removed Physx from add/remove, and its gone there but trying to reinstall the new driver, it says its still installed and fails to install physx now

Please open the "Computer" and see if you have a drive E: showing and what it is...

Such errors are often caused by by launching installers from secondary drives (Non C:/) or with Nvidia drivers, directing file unpacking incorrectly.

Lets see if you even have something showing as drive E:/

Just thought I would post back after about 20hrs of hard testing...

This driverset 295.73 appears to be functioning correctly and is performing quite well

So far, these drivers get a Maniac

Agreed, after a clean install these are definitely great for all games to me, including Battlefield 3 which is what most matters for me!

I'm really disappointed there's still no proper SLI profile for SWTOR.

And Nvidia and Bioware's refusal to acknowledge this problem, is really taking my patience and good will to its limit.

The game ran fine in beta, but ever since launch it's the same issue. Which goes exactly as another Quad SLI 590 user said in a 590 owners/enthusiast forum:

Shinobi Jedi, i'm getting crushes too. and right after crash only one of four GPUs continue to "work", other 3 sit at 0% load, 0.875v and nothing can make them work again except reboot. it happens roughly after 2-2.5 hours of playing and first symptoms are dissapearing textures

This is exactly what has been happening to me since the launch of this game. And to be clear, this didn't happen at all during the beta when Hi-Res textures were enabled.

This is the only game I have issues on. Everything else runs 120fps on full blast on every game, except the highest setting in Witcher 2 for AA. BF3, Skyrim, Batman - games with more complex graphics - all run better than SWTOR.

I have never OC'd these cards, I don't mess with voltages, they have been a dream except for SWTOR..

I'm ready to walk away from this game, and I'm not an MMO guy, but got into it as a Star Wars geek.  If BF3 wasn't running so rampant with cheaters, I would've already...

So I guess what I'm getting at is -

Jacob, can we get the EVGA SLI Enhancement Pimp-Jedi's to write us 590 owners, or any other SLI users experiencing this issue, a proper SLI profile for SWTOR?

After all, you guys seem to be the only ones that get the job done...

Thanks for your time and consideration, and anyone else reading, for allowing me to rant/vent on this issue.

Cheers!

Same problem here. With the other problems that are too numerous to mention I unsubed today with all the other players that are leaving this mess of a game in droves. You will too!

The population has grown @20% since release but...Apparently people are leaving in droves --

The driver situation/SLI profile is not an issue of Bioware's ~ It's one of Nvidias -- Same goes for the lack of a profile for the past few months on BF3 -- And the same goes for the current lack of driver support with the 590.

Oh wait, I forgot -- Obviously Bioware is capable of releasing a WHQL update specifically for the 590, sorry!!!

I was going to say this exact thing.  Biowarwe has zero responsibility in support for what hardware the end user has in their machines. Also note that the vast majority of players in this game do not have uber top tier sli rigs like most of us here,  so the number of people with issues is quite small when you look at the game's entire population.

No drive E showing.
I did a system restore but that was not so fun. After the restore finished, the system was not running very smooth and my antivirus was not working, trying to fix it ended up freezing the system which was weird so I tried uninstalling it after it rebooted and I couldnt.
I finally got it to try and undo the restore, after it rebooted it said it failed but the system was responding better and was able to uninstall the AV and had to reinstall it to get it working again, then I looked and it showed it did go back to my old driver and showed the physx again, so just to see I tried running the new driver without uninstalling anything, graphics installed fine but it failed on the physx yet again.
Physx is gone from add/remove but the installer still says I have the old physx so im back at square one lol.
I dont know what else to do, I might just reinstall windows this weekend and start fresh, a lot of hassle for a new driver.

I'm getting allot of black screen crashes while playing Battlefield 3 with these drivers. I highly suspect its to do with SLI again as they still haven't updated the SLI profile for it.

First time I played Skyrim I followed a rabbit into a woddy area on a snowy mountain and punched the poor thing to death and got lost.

I didn't realize physx had a new driver out? Should i download these to install my current one with the new driver i have? Do i have to uninstall the physx driver first and install this or UNINSTALL all of the drivers like usual and driver sweeper and start all over but install graphics display first only then reboot and install the newest physx or just straight bat off install physx over the current one? I don't want any problems. Wish manic was online. He's good at pointing these things out.

Why you do this NVIDIA, it shows SLI when installed, but as soon as you freaking restart it goes bye bye.

These are definitely the best drivers so far. Only thing I'm noticing. When playing Alan Wake my overclock doesn't stick. I'll be playing with the MSI overlay display on with my overclock applied. Then the game will suddenly freeze and my overclock is gone. I paused the game, used one of my macro button to apply my overclock and it doesn't happen again. Seems to only happen once during the game, but once I apply it again it stays. Might just be a problem with the game itself. Already beat the game so it isn't much of a problem anymore.

Working great for us here. Just installed right over the WHQL driver. Make sure you custom install and only check the driver.

So far I am not having issues with these drivers. Did some 3dMark sessions with it and the scores upped a bit. Overall I am liking these above the last WHQL drivers.

LOLOLOL

Hardware detection failure and no Nvidia driver on a cold reboot...

Thats after maybe 20 restarts, 10 cold boots and tons of testing including 25hrs of hard and hot use.

Cold reboot, windows loading screen followed by the chime of the windows login screen. Force shutdown, cold reboot followed by normal loading -without- Nvidia drivers loading.

Uninstalled Afterburner (normal process before driver uninstall-reinstall), but instead of -also- uninstalling 295.73, decided to try a reboot... drivers came right up with SLI enabled.

Darnest thing
EVGA/Nvidia thinks its my vidocard BIOS difference, but that just does not explain this odd behavior.

Makes me wonder if its not something in AB, going to try some older versions and try and pin it down.

I got some time, so I'm going ahead and flashing my videocard BIOS as suggested, and then work thru the issue whatever it takes up too and including a reformat if needed.

Such is the life of using high end hardware.

I'm still using AB 2.1.0 for mine considering I didn't desire to use the betas anymore. No issues at all since installing these drivers. I'll know more after a few more restarts and game testing. So far with futuremark I'm not seeing issues.

99.99% of the time that means your OC is not stable. Either drop it down 25mhz or bump the voltage up a notch.

BF3 still crashes on these drivers, pretty much every 20 to 30 minutes.

Running: Dual GTX 590's in SLI with water cooling.
What happens:
  • Screen turns black, monitor goes dark, computer is stuck, but hasn't crashed. Other apps and voice chat are still running
  • Game freezes for 2 seconds, screen turns black, everything else is still running, alt tab works and I can see a BF3.exe message has appeared telling me that a DirectX error has cause the game to stop responding. SOMETIMES I can just end task, but most of the time the system freezes and I have to hard restart. The funny thing is voice chat is still running as well as my other programs. I just can't do anything with the mouse or keyboard.
Now, this problem only occurs using all drivers versions except: 285.62 released back in October. The 285.62 drivers don't crash at all, but I still get that FPS dip which somtimes drops my FPS to 20 or 30 which is ridiculous considering I have dual GTX 590's, 12GB of 2000MHz memory and an Intel 990x processor. I have reported this problem with every Nvidia Driver release since 285.62, but nvidia has not acknowledged my bug report or released a fix for it. This problem only seems to happen on the GTX 500 series graphics cards from what I've seen on the net.

Update

Its not Afterburner, confirmed by testing

Installed the last known working drivers 285.79
Drivers run thu Heaven/Mark11 and GPUZ used to save older BIOS's

-->Both cards flashed with the 1.4 fan unlocker BIOS (as suggested by EVGA/Nvidia)

Cards again benchmark tested and GPUZ checked for new BIOS with 285.79

*295.73 Install
Going with a (295.79 release notes suggestion) Nvidia installer overwrite/install over the top of 285.79 Custom install, Graphics/PhysX/Clean install checked.

Install flawless and SLI enabled, reboot and AB Beta 14 installed, reboot and same quick benchmarks, reboot.

Videocard BIOS flashed and 295.73 installed, now its just running it hard (as before) and seeing if the BIOS 'was' the issue or not

minuteman

What in-game settings are you using?
Cyclic slowdowns are most often caused by running the in-game  Texture Quality setting too high, causing increased streaming loads. Due to your 1.5gig Vram, only the setting of HIGH texture quality should be used on a 590
Crashes could be caused by streaming timings or by temps, so rule out the temps.

I have followed the guide you made for installing/uninstalling drivers. Is it not longer valid? Since Nvidia seems to state in the release notes. Install over the top now?

Update

Its not Afterburner, confirmed by testing

Installed the last known working drivers 285.79
Drivers run thu Heaven/Mark11 and GPUZ used to save older BIOS's

-->Both cards flashed with the 1.4 fan unlocker BIOS (as suggested by EVGA/Nvidia)

Cards again benchmark tested and GPUZ checked for new BIOS with 285.79

Well, I have found one other annoying bug. I can no longer force FXAA in OpenGL games like I could before. I can turn on the option, but it doesn't show up in game. weird. *shrugs*

99.99% of the time that means your OC is not stable. Either drop it down 25mhz or bump the voltage up a notch.

Only happening in this game. BF3 works perfect and that's using 99% of my gpu just like this game. No stutters or anything. Highly doubt it's my overclock. Still think it's just the game.
